Vela or Podolski

With Carlos' recent 'come and get me plea' to Arsenal I think this move makes too much sense to pass up. Buy-back clause of just under £5m could be one of the bargains of the year for a 15+ goal a season winger playing regularly in La Liga and CL. We all know he was a classy finisher whenever given the chance but his opportunity never extended beyond the league cup. Now having grown as a player and in his opinion as a person I think he'd be a great asset.

Wenger once claimed Vela was one of the most natural finisher he's seen, no, not worked with.... SEEN. Hell of a statement considering what the great has witnessed in his career. For me this deal was always a no-brainer and I've always included him in my 'summer ins' list so you know I'm a fan. The only problem I thought existed with him was his reluctance to return but that's been put to bed now.

Podolski similarly is a fantastic finisher as we all know but he's extremely limited and really clashed with our football at times, some will say his different style suits us but he can really have poor games at times and when he tries to link up and get involved he looks quite out of place, he varies between being a match-winner or liability. I'm a massive Podolski fan but he can't seem to knuckle down throughout a season with us. Podolski needs a more open free-flowing attacking style to really thrive and would have been brilliant with a team like Liverpool this season for example. Vela is just as clinical (more finesse less power) and also has the flair and skill to fit right in. Him and Theo on either wing would excite me and I'm sure it would Mesut.

Also Podolski on £100k is a hinderance considering his impact and I think we should let go and exercise the clause. Don't forget Joel Campbell could potentially come back so may have to be 2 of these 3 wingers. I'd take Vela have JC as back-up and let Podolski go unfortunately.

We also need to stop playing playmakers out wide and add more goal threats in those areas as we witnessed this year without Theo we miss something in the final third .

Impact player or starter I think Vela would be a very useful weapon for us and remember he also counts as a homegrown player

Thoughts?

Podolski 5
or
Vela 1

DSV, I am sure you are happy to judged on what you were as a teenager for the rest of your career, whatever you do.
Imagine going for promotion and being told no because when you were 19 you weren't good enough for the promotion.

People grow, people change and footballers mature.

We are one of the richest clubs in the world. You can never have too many players. Keep Podolski and bring Vela back.

Vela is good in Spain, he likes it there. I never liked his attitude. And DJ for Vela being new charakter now. Come on: This guy has decided not to compete in the 2014 World Cup for his country. He isn't mentally ready to represent Mexico in the World Cup. That is just abot right, what Arsenal need.

Vela didn't decide that out of the blue, he was banned for partying with tranny prossies and been outcasted since.
Hardly fair to criticise a man for standing up for his beliefs and feelings of injustice. No doubt he would be criticised if he did a u turn with the lure of a World Cup. His decision to stick to his principals shows maturity IMO.

DJ I like your postings too much to argue with you about Vela. Time will tell. In the end I hope You're right, he's back next season and scores load of goals.

I just think sometimes people forget the human aspect behind footballers decisions. Imagine going to a different country, that speaks a different language, has a different culture, at a very young age and being expected to be a mature adult and perform straight away.
To judge him on that, to me, seems very harsh. Better to judge him on what he has become in the last two or three years.
