Fans can see it, pundits can see it, journos can see it - EVERYONE can see it, except the only two people who can do anything about it.
What is it about the blind spots Lennon has with Sammy and McCoist with Edu?
What can they see that we can't. As a Rangers fan, I cannot remember the last time I came away from a game and thought, "Edu was good today."
And yet, he is a regular.
I know Celtic fans who are pulling their hair out over Lennon's loyalty to Samaras.
The irony is these players could end up costing their managers their jobs.
The Samaras/Edu connundrum

As a rangers fan I was delighted when sammy got a new contract , I think lennon made a big mistake giving him a 3 year contract and that has been proven by his form after signin, edu is also one who needs to get a break from regular action or move on , he shows signs of what he can do , ihe is a player who hides from the game when things aren't goiing our way - which then gets worse , particularly at ibrox when h hears 50k fans on his back which makes matters worse for him and he rushes the ball the the first place he see's .
In regards to booing - I've been a season ticket holder for aslong as I can remeber and I would never boo my team - as I am there to SUPPORT
I think its a sign of the pathetic world we live in where booing is now becoming the norm - I for one will never do it , I know the argument is that we all pay over the top prices to be entertained - I agree with that hwowver who's the ay the enetertainment has the be about the team winning or every player being up to our own high standards? We all pay good money to watch this wonderful sport which regardless of who is playing it or how much the participants get paid to perform it is unpredictable , this is something I think we all need to thinl about before trying to SUPPORT our teams - we can't treat football like its a guarentee like a tv you buy or a car you hire - it wouldn't be a sport otherwise

Never mind Edu - McCulloch was worse. Looked like an old man, hacking down players due to his lack of any pace as usual.
At least Edu won tackles at times - set up Jelavic well for a golden chance to make it 2-0, fizzed a shot inches wide in the 2nd half also. I'd rather see McCulloch go than him.

Samaras is not a bad player, he's just not a striker, which is weird because he leads the line so well...without actually putting the ball in the net.
He is all over the park and has good control, except in goal scoring opportunities...On paper..him and Hooper should be ideal...and yet...

I wouldn't boo the team during the match as it hurts the chances of a result but after the 90 I'm not shy in letting them know what i feel.
I can accept the lack of quality but when mediocre players are paid huge wages to play a game or two a week i demand 100% effort and professionalism.
What I've seen so far this season is a half ersed effort and a complete lack of discipline.

Edu is unfairly targeted.
We haven't had a balanced midfield for about 4 years.
The two people playing wide one (Ortiz) is not left footed and one is no winger (Davis)
Then he has McCulloch next to him who gave the ball away non stop last night and was shocking.
This craap has been going on for year and has wrecked the guys confidence, that and the boo boys at Ibrox like the OP.
Get off the players backs. It tactical stupidity followed on from Walters tactical stupidity. The whole team lacks confidence since Walter, especially in Europe. All this players out of position in midfield has destroyed their confidence. They cannot string 3 passes together and last night the midfield was overlooked for long balls over the top. All the midfield do is get the ball, give it to the defence and they hoof it to Jelavic. A joke!

Castle
edu wasn't the worst offender last night but he has started the last 33 straight competitive matches and has been dreadful in just about all of them.
Last night was about as good as Edu gets and it was still well short of a good performance........when he punted the ball out, nearly for a corner from the opposition half I could have cried and laughed at the same time.
At least walter had his own tactics and got the players to do what he wanted........Ally looks like he's trying to copy WS without knowing how to do it.

Edu plays better with Mculloch out the team. He is not a linch pin midfielder. We need a general in there and I think we should be getting Hutton and Ness a run in the team freeing up Davis to get forward. We are still in the tie.

Why is it Edu plays well for the USA? Is it because of the midfield players round him? I have never seen Davis play well on the right, yet he's not targeted.
Edu is constantly targeted by the crowd, no wonder he's not playing well, alone with the players around him.
He's the latest in a long line of targets. Charlie Adam and Chris Burke being others, both left and both were good players after all. Funny that, eh?
I would however sell McCulloch in a heartbeat.
