---------------------G.Rulli-----------------------
Darmian----Chambers-- Laporte----Sandro
------------Bender-----------Kovacic------------
--------------------Marchisio--------------------
El Ghazi--------------------------------Memphis
----------------------Morata---------------------

Mvogo, Ricardo, Vidal, James, Neymar, Aguero, Sanchez

A chance to see how our second string get along, they have the opportunity to show me they are capabale of stepping up.

We go out to play our usual fast, free flowing football, nothing changes in that aspect, when we attack we do it as fluid as possible, we dont want to dither on the ball, make desicions quickly, pass and move, defensively we do it as a team, 451 with the wingers tracking back leaving the CF up top, we close everything down, and really pressurise them into mistakes

Geronimo Rulli is a very agile GK, can get around the area very quickly and close down strikers, his huge frame makes life difficult for the opposition, will release the ball early to the wide players.

Back four s young but confident, Darmian and Alex Sandro and fullback love to attack but as always we stress only one attacks at a time. We cannot allow ourselves to be exposed at the back with any quick counters by them. Stick to there wingers, push them out wide and stop them cutting in and becoming a danger. Attack, support the wingers, get to there outside giving them an option, if you do recieve the ball , fire in crosses to the CF.

Laporte man marks the CF and Chambers sits spare, these two and Zouma are the future so will look to put on a dominate display, Laporte wont give the CF any time to manouvre his way into goal by pushing him back wards, not physically but positionally he will force him back not allowing him the freedom of the final third, always watching him even if we are attacking. Chambers the spare man will take a step back and watch to see how things progress, will be there to help other defenders if they lose there man. Will attack all high balls and any big men that come up for set plays, he himself will go up for corners.

Kovacic and Bender are solid enough in the middle can both defend and attack, so defensively, without the ball Bender will look to pick up the AM and Kovacic the 2nd most attacking threat from nmidfiled, the two work perfectly together and on the same wavelength, onto there players very quickly and do not allow them to dictate play. and pressurise them into stupid passes as they panic, attacking ONE moves forward Witsel usually the other stays back, both can do it and have the energy to do so , so get up and support the forwards, awaiting any ball that comes out and shoot if possible, both hvae good shots., Look to bring the others into the game, with nice quick passing.

This is a chance for El Ghazi to show his worth, with Depay on the left the two want to showcase there talent, we put trust in our two young Dutch wingers this season as back up to the two main men, quick, skillfull and both with a very good eye for goal, love taking players on with pace. Play with no fear, take players on, if it doesnt work, track back and follow the players who has the ball, always fighting. Keep trying it will pay off. Take them on down the line with support from fullbacks, if they arent there quick one twos with Marchisio and drive into the box and take a pop at goal. Defend the lines in and get back and support the fullbacks when they have.

Marchisio is a free role, help out defensively and support |Morata as much as possible, look for the ball as much as possible, alot will go through him wether its a through ball to Morata and he drives on, or quick passes to the wingers freeing them up, or playing the ball down the line for them to chase. Always has his head up looking for that desicive ball. When defending thre will be one midfielder left for them, so get onto him quickly and dont allow him to start attacks from deep.

Morata has everything, cna hold it up, take players on with pace and a great eye for goal. Always on the last man pushing the Cbs back making them play a deep line, look to spin off his marker when Marchisio plays the through ball. if nothing on, look for the wingers driving in as well as Marchisio and look to lay it off for them. Even without the ball, look to split the Cbs or drag them out of position freeing up space for others.

Captain - Marchisio
Penalties - Morata/Aguero
Free Kicks - Depay
Corners - Wingers

Subs:-
Losing -
60 Mins - Aguero for Witsel, he goes in to support Morata, Marchisio drops in beside Bender

--------------------G.Rulli----------------------
Chambers--Bonucci--Chiellini--Rodriguez
--------------Vidal---------Pogba--------------
---------------------James----------------------
--Sanchez---------------------------Neymar--
---------------------Aguero---------------------

Mvogo, Laporte,Bender, Marchisio, Depay, Dybala, Morata

In goal Rulli, a fantastic shot stopper and a keeper that instills confidence in the back four, leads by example from the back, shouting instructions to hos defenders. Out quickly to shut down strikers and close there shooting angles down. Punches clear what he cant catch from high balls and likes to release early to set up quick counters.

Chiellini alongside Bonucci is as good a partnership you will see in the league, on this occassion Bonucci will man mark the CF, we must still be wary of whoever it is. Bonucci is quick and skillfull for a CB, with great marking abilities, will keep the CF away from goal and be on to him quickly as he comes forward so he can intercept any though he has of going for goal. When in possession he will carry the ball out and start attacks from the back. Chiellini alongside not only brings experience but also he is fantastic v big men and in the air, so will mark any other big players that come into our danger area, strong in the air and strong in the tackle and make sure he is strong enough to get the ball away from danger, will help out Bonucci if needed.

Ricardo and Chambers at fullback, when we attack one goes at a time the other sits back. When they attack I want them bombing down the wing over lapping the winger to allow them to cut inside, quick passing between the two to get them passed the opposition fullback, which will see the fullback drive towards the bye line to get a quick cross in. If its not a cross then look for the winger inside to play a quick pass back to them so they can drive into the box. Defending both will have to be vigilant and always mindful of the tricks the opposite winger can do. Be onto them quickly not allowing them the time to get going, push them out wide and stop them becoming a threat.

We go with Vidal and Pogba in the centre of midfield, two absolute workhorses, with fantastic defensive attributes as well as being good on the attack, when we defend they will work together to shut there midfield down the AM and second most advanced CM , they will close down everything very quickly and not allow there players any time on the ball whatsoever, once the ball is won, then Pogba or Vidal will drive on into support James and Aguero, the other will stay back just in case Both good on the ball with a great eye for goal, can shoot from a variety of angles. look out for Neymar and Sanchez coming inside and put some nice crisp through balls into them and James and Aguero. Quick passing from the two as to not be shut down by the Portsmouth midfielders.

Sanchez and Neymar both quick with nimble feet which more often than not takes them passed the fullback, wether they knock it passed them and drive on or simple a quick turn, and there away. Will have fullbacks supporting them so this allows them to pass and cut inside where both are very useful. Give and go, wait for the return and go for goal, or look to drive into the box in support of Aguero. Neymar focusses more on the tricks and twists to see him passed, whereas Sanchez likes to make the pass that gives him time to look for space for him to drive into and use James and wait for the return. Both very dangerous and with support from there respective fullbacks we will be a danger out wide. When defending look to get back and stop there defenders becoming a threat. Like said they support the defenders when they have the ball and the defenders support them when we attack.

Jamesis given a free role today to try and break them down, and if Portsmouth go with 3 guys in the middle he simple drops in as well when they attack, if not he will drift all over as to make it difficult for his marker to pick him up, as he drifts this will leave holes in the Portsmouth midfield for us to take advantage of. He will look to drive forward when he can with either Pogba/Vidal with him as they look to support Aguero, they and Aguero will cause a lot of problems, he will pass to the CF and look to move into fantastic positions for Aguero to get him in in on goal, when we defend I want him to run down the DM looking to keep him off the ball and force him into mistakes.

Portsmouth have a quality trio in midfield so we must match them they come forward, do not give them any time on the ball as they could hurt us.

Aguero will get plenty chances, he must put away this Portsmouth side who will be solid at the back. Get into positions that he can go for goal or at very least drag players away for other players to drive into the space. They are slow at the back so our forwards must hit them with pace. Good is surprisingly good in the air and two good feet, can score from various angles/ranges..All of our front four will be a threat today we must go for it and keep pace with the league leaders. Can hold it up and look for runners, in particular Neymar, James and Sanchez running into support.

A very difficult game but we have a good side defensively and going forward, quick passing, one twos and drive into positions to receive a return ball, we really must go fr it, at the same time nothing risky.

Captain - Chiellini
Penalties - Neymar
Free kicks - James
Corners - Wingers

Subs -
Losing
65 Mins - Morata for James, Morata goes up top and Aguero slots in just behind him
80 Mins - Dybala for Rodriguez, 3 at the back, Aguero supporting Dybala and Morata
85 Mins - Depay for Neymar

Drawing
70 Mins -Morata for James again Aguero supports him
80 Mins - Depay for Neymar

Winning
70 Mins Marchisio for James slots into a 3 man mid
80 Mins - Depay for Neymar
85 Mins -Morata for Aguero

Tactics for the Super Cup

PORTSMOUTH V Chelsea

Line Up:

Neuer
Lahm Pepe Hummels Kurzawa
Krychowiak
Schweinsteiger Xhaka
Goetze Lewandowski Turan

Subs: Meret; Trippier; Marquinhos; Asamoah; Barkley; Navas; Arnold

Captain: Schweinsteiger
Free Kicks: Turan
Penalties: Lewandowski
Corners: Goetze

Game Plan:

This is a big game for us to signal our intentions for the coming season. Chelsea are a strong and successful team but we view them as direct rivals now and, as such, we need to win every game that we play against them, no matter how trivial.

Defensively, we will look to be organised and resolute. We do not want to devolve in to matching Chelsea man-to-man as this will result in us leaving space in our formation that will inevitably result in Chelsea taking advantage. We will be playing a zonal marking system similar to that deployed by Barcelona that works on the basis of crowding out passing lanes and forcing the opposition in to unplayable areas

We have set up for a vicious midfield battle, with three tough tackling central midfielders in place to wrest control of the middle of the pitch from Chelsea. We intend to stifle all of Chelsea’s play here so that they cannot get the ball to their dangerous front line. If we can cut off their attack from the rest of their formation then we will win the game.

In order to do this, we will play a deep defensive line; inviting Chelsea’s forwards towards us while our midfield players sit behind them and cover any balls being played through the middle. With Goetze and Turan dropping back to cover the flanks, balls in towards the Chelsea front ranks will meet a lot of resistance.

In attack, Chelsea will most likely look to play a high tempo game so, to counter that, we want to nullify any speed in the game and ruin Chelsea’s momentum and play a slow possession game that will force them to push forward.

I want Kurzawa and Lahm pushing forward no further than the central midfield area. We need them to hold back and stay on the flanks to provide an outlet for whoever has the ball, thus stretching the play across the whole length of the pitch and forcing Chelsea to come to us.

This formation will require some patience. We don't want to force anything and lose the ball in a bad position. My players have been instructed that moving backwards away from danger is preferable to forcing play in to crowded areas.
When on the ball, we want our formation to be free form. With Xhaka, Schweinsteiger and Krychowiak in midfield, we have three very adept midfield players who will need to be constantly looking for space to play in to. Chelsea has a capable midfield three and we will need to be on our toes if we want to keep them at bay.

Goetze and Turan, also, will need to roam around the pitch. We will not be playing with traditional wingers in this game as the style of play of both sides will not facilitate players who spend the entire game out wide. Goetze and Turan will spend a lot of time cutting inside to provide an outlet for the midfield or simply to drag their defence in to a position where they are leaving gaps for someone else. With Lewandowski up top, we have a striker who is willing to roam in to the wide areas so, effectively, we will have three forwards up top who will be constantly roaming around the pitch, looking for space.

Individual Tactics:

Neuer:
The best keeper in the world – this must inspire confidence in the back four that we will not concede. An incredible shot stopper and a commanding presence, he can be relied upon to marshal the back 4.

Lahm:
Lahm is one of the best full backs to ever grace the football pitch. He is resolute and has a fantastic tackle on him. He won’t want his opponent cutting in and driving through the centre so he will try to force them backwards or in to the corner where he can regain possession.

Kurzawa:
A quick and athletic player, he will be more than up for the challenge that lies ahead. Like Lahm, he will attempt to prevent players cutting in to the middle.

Pepe and Hummels:
Nothing fancy expected from these two today. We want to remain close to the striker, even when operating under a zonal marking system, so both defenders will be instructed to push to him whilst the other one will drop off slightly to cover runs from midfield and to stop any chance of the striker breaking free.

Krychowiak:
Tough-tackling and resolute, his job will be to sit in front of the back four and break up the passing lanes. If any Chelsea forwards drop deep to collect the ball, he will follow their runs.

Schweinsteiger and Xhaka:
Both are hard-working, strong midfield players - we will require them at their physical peak today as their defensive work will not stop. We need Schweinsteiger and Xhaka to operate as dual sweepers in midfield, meaning that they will need to cover the entirety of the back line together. We want them to cut out the passing lanes, sitting between the opposition midfield and forwards and blocking any easy routes between them. In attack, they will look to push forward and provide central options in order to stretch out Chelsea’s formation.

Goetze, Turan and Lewandowski:
As has been previously stated, they will enjoy a roaming game when in possession to punish any lax Chelsea defending. When they have space, I want them to run with the ball at the Chelsea defence and cause havoc, particularly targeting their left flank. In defence, we need the two wide players to drop in to, essentially, wing back positions to cover the space provided by having narrow full backs. This will close the game off whilst also providing a quick outlet for the counter. Lewandowski’s job is simple: Find yourself some space, get the ball, score.

Substitutions:

65 minutes: Asamoah for Schweinsteiger :- We want to keep Schweinsteiger fresh so in comes Asamoah to provide pace and energy. He will take up the same box-to-box role. Hummels will take up the captaincy.

75 minutes: Navas for Goetze :- Direct, pacey and fresh; Navas will look to speed down the wing against a tired full back and cross the ball for Lewandowski.

80 minutes: Arnold for Turan :- A chance for Arnold to prove his worth. He will be given a free reign to show his creative and goal-scoring prowess.
