PERSPECTIVE

Hi Guys just to put things into context today the following transactions were for the sale of our strikers:

1) Beckford 25 League goals - Money Received Nil
2) Becchio 18 Goals - Money Received Nil (Steve Morrision has little value)
3) Ross McCormack - Transfer Fee £11m

Go figure, well done Massimo for stopping the exodus for pittance.

Yeah, how about, "I'm not going to sell Ross, it's a matter of principle and I'd never sell him to a Championship club"

Ross sold to a Championship Club.

Jonty, Things change. It seems, as you suggested
Ross wanted out and his position was untenable.

11 mill suggests we got rid of a player who didn't want to be here, for a boatload. So, flimsy argument.

To be fair (and I can't believe i'm saying this), but MC did say (on camera) it was a matter of principle about Ross. That should in theory that he won't be sold under any circumstances.

That being said - I believe Fulham have given MC 11 million reasons to sell Ross and i'd not fault him for that. Good luck Ross, just not against us thanks.

That's what I said yesterday, despite Stevie thinking it wasn't untenable

However, it's clearly a u turn (one of many!)

Statement on club website is quite damning actually, wonder when we'll hear more of full story.

Jonty would you keep a player at a club who didn't want to play for that club anymore?
No matter how much you want to keep him

chorley, depends on circumstances.

I look at example of Suarez, didn't want to stay, was a lot stroppier than Ross, yet club was firm and it brought Liverpool their highest finish for years.

But he looks like moving on this year!

Perhaps they did a deal with him?

If Ross stayed and had a poor season, value goes right down

Agree with the last bit chorley and that's one of the circumstances.

In Suarez, you're guaranteed goals every season, its less of a gamble. With Ross's record, there;s nothing to say he wouldn't just score 5 next season.

It's happened now, hope last season's goals can be replaced.
