What has happened to them? I watched mock the week and 8 out of 10 cats does countdown recently and came away wondering who these 'comedians' had sucked off to get the gig.
Unfunny
Jack Whitehall
Jason Manford
James Corden (if you can count him)
Rob Beckett
Milton Jones
Mickey Flanagan
John Richardson
Jimmy Carr
Jo Brand
Joe Wilkinson (worst of the lot)
The only comedians that I find a tiny bit funny at the minute are Hugh Dennis, Dara O'Briain and Andy Parsons.
Is it just me or do people actually find these people funny?

I also really like the one liner guys, Stewart Francis, Tim Vine and to a lesser extent Milton Jones.

I watched a 2 hour show of Tim Vine just doing 1 liners. That's got to take some memory to get them all out.

People seem desperate to gather at arenas to watch sh.1te like John Bishop.
Some of these unfunny fluckers are making a fortune from second rate, repetitive, b@ll@x.
'someone must be getting a grant', yes John, they flucking must be.

I think he went for a world record for most jokes told in 2 hours Jay. Thing is they're brilliant jokes and just relentless, its just not quite as clever as people who do a lot of crowd interaction and stuff, but I really like it none the less

Listing Jimmy Carr as 'unfunny' is itself a form of comedy.
............
I have only ever seen him on Top Gear and Norton, and have found him to be very funny.
He has a similar sarcastic and even caustic kind of wit to me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's brilliant. Great delivery and darkly nihilistic. Anything and everything is fair game - himself included. Love it when he's on QI as well!

The thing with comedians is that they have their own demographic that they cater to. Now I've not seen all of them live or seen their DVDs but you can tell by the response here. For e.g. Someone mentioned they enjoyed Jim Davidson but he didn't amuse me. Then there are the ethnic guys, who try to cater to the mainstream but also their own folks - the lot from Goodness Gracious Me for example. When it works it works well. You could say the same for women comedians.
My biggest issue is that after awhile they just repeat themselves. Either a joke or act I.e. Dave Mitchell complaining about something he apparently feels strongly about or Omid Djallali(sp?) using the same jokes he had used for the last 15 years.
But that Bishop guy annoys me. Is his accent. Can't stand it.

Stewart Lee's 90's Comedian is the most genius stand up DVD ever. I've told him that in person when he signed my book after a gig at his Carpet Remnant World tour.
