Does anyone here play this ?
its currently in Alpha stage but very playable still, with loads more stuff beng added all the time.
the object is to survive a zombie apocalypse in what I can only describe as an ENORMOUS open world.
at the moment there isn't much to do,
you can go hunting,
Fishing
exploring
Killing zombies
Killing other players
Protect other players
I get the feeling that there is a lot more to come from this beautiful game.

Was released in December, and it sounds like you never played the original. Just to confirm you do know how long it takes to develop video games now a days yes?
OP, i love the mod and when i get some more free time and cash i will be picking up the alpha. After the new engine has been implemented this game will be awesome.

Not at all - just someone who understands game development, and get a little miffed when people come up with statements like:
"it's been in alpha for ages now... Pretty sure the developers are using it as a cash grab. it will never be "finished" "
Based on no fact what so ever, and if you played the mod from day one you wouldnt be speaking like this so i also doubt that fact as Rocket always kept up a good output on the mod, and the stand alone has shown nothing has changed.

I haven't got it but it seems really glitchy, if it becomes available on consoles I would maybe pick it up

A played the mod. What a boring game.
Run about for 2 hours looking for your friends, then you die to some guy camping in a bush and then you spend another 2 hours looking for your friend.
Then if you're lucky enough you manage to salvage some goods and maybe even get pieces to repair a vehicle, and then you die again and spend another 2 hours running around.
OR, you salvage goods, get a vehicle, get weapons etc and then you walk over a rock and theres a 4-5 inch drop, you walk off the rock and break your leg and bleed to death......
How on gods earth people enjoy that is beyond me, I'd rather drink my own p iss
