Once the Remy capture is confirmed, do you reckon he can displace DS from the starting 11 with some brilliant performances.
Haven't seen him much. How different is he from DS?
Loic Remy

Xiuxiue is the best poster on here, zero axe to grind. Not sure what he's getting at in that post though.

Sturridge has a lot more to his game than Remy on what I have seen.
Remy is a very good runner off the line, good movement, good one v ones. If you restrict his space I am not sure how effective he can be.
Sturridge can play as the running 9, but he also drops off, has great touch, can dribble, can pass, is improving in the air.
IMO Sturridge is potentially the best striker in the Prem. He just needs to improve a little bit physically and mentally.
Remy is a good player but doesn't have what Sturridge does.

I'm male.
Sorry - I read it again and it wasn't very clear. Last season, being out of the cups gave you a great platform. Then you had Gerrard, who let's be honest, had a very good season in that role in front of the defence and gave the team an excellent platform. Then, you had Suarez who was unbelievably good.
The team was very balanced and the younger players and the new players basically bought into the team ethic. But now Suarez has gone, my worry is that Sturridge will think he's "main man" and maybe his ego will unbalance the squad (or maybe not) Then you have to throw into the mix the new signings who come in. Players like Lambert will fit into the team very easily you would think but if you get a few "superstar" egos you may unbalance the squad.
You also have good young players who played nearly every week last season (Coutinho and Sterling). How will they take the competition?
And then, the final question is how will Liverpool cope if they do not progress in the Champions League or if they drop down in the league?
I think it is going to be really interesting to see what happens. Maybe Rodgers will show himself a true genius or maybe Liverpool will have a fabulous season - and I would much prefer your position that Man Utds despite all the people who may pretend the contrary.
Liverpool had a lovely balance in that squad last year -especially coming into the final third of the season and I think the first job for them is not to upset that.

Even if Sturridge reaches his maximum potential I doubt he will ever be as good as Aguero.
Hard to judge RVP and Rooney at this stage of their careers although RVP is still fairly good.
Costa has received unfair criticism after being played while injured by Simeone several times. He is actually a skillful terrier sort of striker who will do well in my opinion. Never stops trying.
Those 3 are fairly ahead of Sturridge in my opinion

I would agree that there are various strikers better than Sturridge. As to whether Costa will be, I have my doubts. Chelsea have taken a huge gamble paying top money (again) on an injured and misfiring striker (again) who in reality has had just one decent season.
I think that if they can keep Sturridge interested and playing an important role and more important, playing for the team, Sturridge will be a very important player next season. If not, I believe Loic Remy will surprise a few people and show that he's more or less as good as Sturridge.

Xiu, regarding Costa, in my opinion, he is a perfect fit for Jose and a possible return to 4-3-3. I think he'll have a similar first season to Drogba's, a bit of a 'bull in a china shop' possibly miss a good chunk of the season through injury and especially suspension, be the new tabloid hate figure but still notch around 15 goals and change the dynamic of Chelsea's attack. Particularly compared to non-contact Nando.
