Isn't It Strange.....

how Jose Mourinho never uttered a word about the exhorbitant wages Chelsea paid players when he was first there? He never uttered a word about the huge wages Chelsea waved at for example a young player like Arjen Robben to snatch him away from Man United.

All of a sudden he can't just utilise Abramovich' personal billions at the drop of a hat to blow anyone out the water for a player and he feels the need to complain about it? It's embarrassing and very ironic for him to come out with this when you consider what has been spent at Chelsea on wages and transfer fees in his time there.

One thing is for sure....without FFP if United and Chelsea had gone head to head for Shaw then he would have ended up at Chelsea as they would have paid whatever it took to make it happen both transfer fee and wages wise. Chelsea world have paid the £100k or so a week and Mourinho would have got his man and he wouldn't have uttered a word about instability etc etc. It's embarrassing and highly hypocritical stuff from him....maybe he is feeling a bit of pressure after winning zero trophies in the last two years when he has been managing two of the highest spending clubs in world football. Or more likely maybe he is just being the ultimate hypocrite.

Chalk up as a Mourinho win? Hardly.

All people are doing is pointing out the hypocrisy of what he said and laughing about it. Wound up about it though? Come on get a grip. No-one is wound up everyone knows he's on the WUM. He's just not very good at it anymore as in this particular instance he has made himself look like a massive hypocrite. Do you honestly expect rival fans not to point out the irony in what he said? Come on mate think about it.

Pointing it out and being wound up about it are two totally different things.

Well of course Jose is a hypocrite. Do you want a medal?

This is the 6th article on those comments on the Utd board, of course we think you guys are wound up by them

It is bit hypocritical of Jose to talk about other players going to other clubs for more money but I think he was been honest at this stage.

If what he is saying about FFP is true, united are in a position to out muscles chelsea in transfer market. which is a great news for us

As for being "wound up", United fans are having a sensible debate on merits of what Jose said on most threads, I dont see many wound up posts

I actually think he was being honest. We do have a wage structure at the club (only 6 players are on 100k+ for example) and regular starters like Ramires, Oscar, Matic, Ivanovic etc are on around half of what Shaw was demanding. It certainly wasn't because we couldn't afford his wages due to FFP, we are comfortably operating within the restrictions.

I can't help but feel that Shaws wage is growing by the day... originally I heard 100k then 120k then 130k...

Now people are saying in excess of 130k!

He's going to be on a million pounds a week by the time the season starts!!
