Whilst the arrival of LVG does seem to have instigated an upturn in performance of some of the under-performers of last season (Young, Fletcher, Jones etc), am i the only one that is still disappointed in Cleverley's performances? I find him sloppy in possession and still negative in his passing. He was one of the squad that i thought would improve/benefit from working with LVG. I know its early days but thought he would show more by now - or perhaps he isn't up to the standard?

I've watched the game this morning, and kept an eye on clevs second half, he lost the ball a grand total of two times. One of which was a total miss kick, the other time he was fouled. He's not a great player by any stretch, but he's a tidy footballer and a good a squad player.

His finishing is also worse than Welbeck's.

Been the only player who has looked out of sorts on tour.
Thought he could flourish under LvG but I think I may have been wrong in thinking so.
Good as a squad player but if we get that centre mid we all want, I think he may be toast. I can see Everton going for him as Martinez has always been a fan.

Might be worth a flutter him being at Everton or Sunderland in a months time

"He's just a very negative player, he'll very rarely lose the ball or make a bad pass but he won't create a lot either, just a very average player."
Are we talking about Carrick for the last two seasons here?
Some people seem to have very short memories.

There was a myth going around for a few seasons that he was 'good in tight spaces'. He's not even good in open spaces for christs' sake!

This bang on. Couldnt have put that in better words.

I remember debating here with some of our resident idiots over this when Cleverley vs McCarthy came up.
I said I'd happily take McCarthy at United as a squad player if it meant replacing Cleverley. But some people were convinced CLeverley is as good as McCarthy
