So fellow blues, here's my question....
WHAT DOES WORLD CLASS MEAN?
AND WHOM AT CHELSEA FITS YOUR DESCRIPTION?
My thoughts on this...
the term world class has bothered me for a while.
The term is a crap one lets be honest, its overly general, and lacking a proper definition.
Is it based on current ability, or previous ability, or do you just have to have excellent potential or the capability to play brilliantly in order to be world class?
Do you have to be in the top 50 players in the world, or top 20? Or is the definition simply the best eleven in the world?
Is it always in relation to other players, can you be the best right back in the world and still not be 'world-class'?
Is it based on stats or talent? Those things arent mutually exclusive, but what I mean is...
is 'world class' an objective concept or really an intangible feeling about a player based on what you see on the TV screen?
Thats ultimately how I see it. Either those who have an impressive and dogged consistency of excellence, or those with a wow factor in my head...
so Cech, Courtois, and Fabregas would be the three I'd call 'world-class'.
How many world class players in our squad?

My definition of world class is that if you were to pick a 23 man world cup squad but with every player available, that player would have a chance of making it

Yet you keep saying Rooney's world class and he wouldn't have a chance of making it.

can you have a world class team without any world class players? if so i couldnt care less if any of ours are. its a team sport guys. bragging about trophies is far ore satisfying than bragging about an individual player

If Schurrle is world class half our squad is world class
I'd say Cech, Courtois, Terry, Fabregas and maybe Hazard are world class. Luis, Azpi, Matic and Costa all had world class seasons last season.
