So the lads signed for United today. He's a good player and would expect him to line up on the left side of a back 3 for them, or occasionally keeping Shaw out of the side.
However considering they are paying £16m plus nearly £5m in paying Nani wages for a year that means that they are paying approx £21m whilst also dropping whatever value Nani has still.
So that's around £76m on Rojo, Shaw and Herrera. Now I'm sorry but as good as they COULD go on to be, that is a ridiculous sum of money. Especially considering they have got pretty much nothing coming in from sales and lost stalwarts like Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra.
Van Gaal is a good manager but I just can't see any manager doing anything with them if they continue in this fashion. Not that I'm complaining of course but the more decent competition in the PL the better for everyone involved!
Poor Juan the guy has played with p1ss poor central midfielders for around 3 years now!

Their firepower should be the least of their worries given that they have Rooney, RVP, Jan and Mata to score/assist?
Their centre backs are the weakest area for me so if they just signed Vidal and Di Maria then I couldn't see a title push unless they went gung-ho like Liverpool last season.

£76 million is 8/10 a Gareth bale....
However I agree somewhat. We have bought one of the most incredibly overhyped youngsters available for a ludicrous fee, but I think Herrera will prove that he is worth the money in what he adds to the team.
£76 for 3 good players at the top level is not that outrageous. Although personally I wouldn't have paid more than 8-10 for shaw.

Where does the myth Cahill is average without terry come from? Just coz he had a couple bad games with that clown luiz? He was England's best player at the World Cup and was boltons star player.
Unproven and no facts to back this up.
As for this new cb for utd never really seen him play but seems a lot Of money they are spending but without champions league they need to pay over the odds for players and wages

Name 10 times this has happened in his career gazza? I remember benteke. Can't remember many others. Remember him standing up Gomez and robben fantastically and most games I go to Aswell.
People love to underrate because he's only rated 80 on fifa

This is some interesting maths you have done here...
Unfortunately you made a few obvious errors in your logic.
Firstly you assumed Nani is worth all the wages we are currently paying him. We didn't agree Nani's contract on the basis he could go on loan to Sporting.
We gave him those on wages on the basis we felt he could perform to that level combined with keeping an asset rather than losing it for free.
Obviously his performances have not warranted the wages, though we may still get a transfer fee for him.... What we actually have is not a very good player (95% of the time) who is getting paid far more than he's worth. The actual value of the player to us (or to Sporting) is far lower for the coming season than his current wages.
Secondly you have assumed that keeping Nani is in our best interests. It probably isn't. A loan where he can play first team football and build his confidence up a bit to increase his value or a slim outside chance of a return is in our interests.... a repeat of his last few seasons this coming season would have just harmed his value and confidence even more!
Lastly you have assumed there were plenty of suitors out there with better offers. Rightly or wrongly LVG has probably identified Nani as someone he doesn't need, that means we have an asset that will just waste away if we can't at least loan him out.
Nani has to agree to the deal as well, would he really accept a relegation dogfight or the kind of clubs that may be interested in him in the PL?
In summary, Nani going to Sporting for a season is not worth to Sporting what it will cost us. Nani going on loan somewhere is more of a benefit to us. Nani wasn't hugely desired by other clubs and LVG most likely wanted him moved on.
