they have a pretty easy fixture list coming up so i would expect them to hit a run of form that will pull them out of this hole of self-pitying and anger they find themselves in, they dont play any top opposition til october

Weird signing, he's gunna make no difference to them whatsoever, he's just an ok CB who's much better at LB where they have shaw already.

They need a world class CB to partner Evans who is a good CB, but Evans is like Cahill/Any city defender, when kompany/terry aint next to them they're not as good, same for Evans, with a vidic/ferdinand he was class. Rojo will not replace them

Seems to me that in trying to accommodate Mata plus the 2 strikers that they are trying to just play more central defenders than buying one top class one... Which is a risky move. All of Jones, Evans and Smalling are on the same level for me, good but none of them great unless paired with top quality.

However considering they are paying £16m plus nearly £5m in paying Nani wages for a year that means that they are paying approx £21m whilst also dropping whatever value Nani has still.

That's ballacks.

We are loaning out Nani because he has no value and needs to play to get a permanent transfer. Sporting obviously cannot afford his wages, but there probably aren't many clubs that can that would want him, so we are hamstrung. It doesn't mean we've paid £21m for Rojo, and I don't see how a loan for Nani can drop his value.

I'm sorry but at worst I am sure that you could find a buyer for Nani right now... Or at worst a team willing to pay his wages in a loan deal.

I agree that loaning Nani out will most likely increase his value, I guess United have thought the hit they will take on Nani will be less if he had a good season elsewhere whilst they still pay his wages and then sell him than if they sold him right now. Also there is a possibility he may return to the first team if he impresses again.

paying his wages is not ideal but if he impresses at sporting then it will be a gamble that should pay off

United could still very well end with two players on Vidal and Di Maria level by the end of the window, which will put them in a strong position to finish 4th or maybe a title chase. Obviously I hope they don't, I'm happy to see the dominance they had break down which I expected after Fergie left (although I did think first season after Fergie leaves they will have a strong season, very surprised what happened last year).

I was about to say that LVG has to prioritise certain areas but his priorities are everywhere it seems! Such a strange situation to be in...

Finding a buyer for the right price that is willing to pay his wages, as well as the player wanting to go, is quite difficult to do given how poor he's been.

A return back to Sporting on loan makes sense as he can hopefully rediscover some form and it will raise his stock - can also help any future dealings we have with Sporting.

If we could do all of what you say then why haven't we? We've had trouble moving on deadwood for years because we pay them so much and their form has often been so bad that it makes it even harder to find a buyer.

Way over priced, had a good world cup which has inflated his fee, before that he looked average

Their firepower should be the least of their worries given that they have Rooney, RVP, Jan and Mata to score/assist?

Their centre backs are the weakest area for me so if they just signed Vidal and Di Maria then I couldn't see a title push unless they went gung-ho like Liverpool last season.

£76 million is 8/10 a Gareth bale....

However I agree somewhat. We have bought one of the most incredibly overhyped youngsters available for a ludicrous fee, but I think Herrera will prove that he is worth the money in what he adds to the team.

£76 for 3 good players at the top level is not that outrageous. Although personally I wouldn't have paid more than 8-10 for shaw.

By the time Utd get their defence in order they will need 3 new strikers

Where does the myth Cahill is average without terry come from? Just coz he had a couple bad games with that clown luiz? He was England's best player at the World Cup and was boltons star player.
Unproven and no facts to back this up.

As for this new cb for utd never really seen him play but seems a lot Of money they are spending but without champions league they need to pay over the odds for players and wages
