All in All A good Window - COYS

It was a bit embarrassing being a spurs fan on here last night as we got the predictable spitting out of dummies from spurs fans who were not satisfied with only six signings this window (despite the seven we signed last summer blowing up in our face)

The problem is that such a hype is caused around deadline day that if you don't like the business done on that day, you forget the business done the rest of the transfer window.

At the start of the window, any Spurs fan would have told you that the two biggest issues were that we were weak at LB, weak at CB, and i suppose from the clubs standpoint the other main issue is that we had way too many players for the 25 man squad we have to name.

We have made considerable improvements in LB, and CB (i will accept that Fazio has not yet played) - but even Dier looks an upgrade on Dawson.

We made a huge improvement in the GK department too.

Selling Sandro was a blow more because we all really like him, rather than anything he has done on the pitch in the last year and a half, because face it, he is barely ever fit, and when he has been fit he has looked pretty terrible.

If Stambouli can even play regular minutes then he is by default an upgrade.

Then we have the attacking department, where I agree we could do with some improvement, but we cannot just go and sign a brand new team again… what is more important is that we develop a system and a clear plan a and plan b with the players we have, as no one will come on here and tell me that we don't have talented players going forward.

So don't let deadline day blind you, take a step back and look at the window as a whole, and you will see that the Spurs squad that we now have is far better and more balanced than the one we had at the end of last season.

Poch is clearly building from the back, like he did at Southampton, and I have no problem with that.

So don't be impatient, lets give Poch time to work with these players now.

I guess i just have to be prepared for the "we should have bought a striker" line every time we don't win or don't score, as if signing a striker is the answer to all our problems - we signed a striker last year that banged in about 30 goals in la liga 3 years in a row. there are no guarantees in football.

remember how often we couldn't break a side down when we had bale modric and vdv pulling the strings.

I think that we will come 5th or 6th this season, and that along with better football, good cup runs, and evidence that Poch is building something would represent a good season.

I would like to think that finally Spurs fans are willing to admit that the club know better than us, and I trust Poch knows what he is doing, and Levy clearly has us on a fine financial footing in preparation for the new stadium build.

So lets just let the gooooners be the negative spoilt brats in north london, and get behind our side, and they will do us proud.

I think everyone's in agreement aren't they?

Everybody thinks we had a good window overall and everybody thinks we needed a spark up front.

I was sat watching TDD hoping for something. Think most were? Where's this meltdown?

Well if our strikers have stinkers this season and/or their missed chances cost us points then the criticism will be justified.
