One for Tblot!

Tblot.............................................You keep saying how Spurs have wasted money & plunged ourselves into huge depth which means inevitably the club will go bust!

Not only do you quote incorrect facts, but you know absolutely nothing about Spurs finances. We are one of the healthiest clubs financially in Europe; Source: Deloitte Money

Now for the main reason behind this post.

News breaking today indicate that QPR are facing a massive £40m fine from the Football League regarding a massive breach by QPR of the Football League's FFP Rules & Regulations.

Under FL Rules introduced in 2012, clubs who make huge losses as they attempt to win promotion to the PL face a range of punishments.
If they overspend and don't go up, the face transfer embargoes. If they overspend and do go up - as QPR did last season - they face large fines.

The tariff system of fines is complex but, in simple terms, QPR face a fine of £1 for every £1 over £18m that they lost in the 2013-2014 season.

QPR's losses for 2013-14 are not yet known. They lost £65.4m in 2012-13 and it is anticipated that the figure will be around the £60m mark in 2013-14, which would mean any fine would be around £40m.
QPR must advise the FL the exact loss figure by December 1st 2014.

Should QPR fail to pay the fine, then sanctions could be imposed by the FL, ranging from points deductions to expulsion from the League.

Now I understand as long as QPR stay in the PL, they do not have to worry about the sanctions as they do not come directly under the Football League's remit, however should (when) QPR are relegated then any such sanctions would be enforced immediately.

So Tblot, how do you view this latest development?

I doubt if QPR could afford a £40m fine on top of annual losses of around £60m every year, any points deductions on their return to the Championship would almost certainly mean relegation to League One & even further if the FL decided expulsion was the only punishment severe enough.

QPR might retain their PL status for one or two seasons, however you know full well it is more than likely that you will be relegated sooner rather than later!

Now that's an interesting concept, most people sit in front of a computer screen!
