any points deductions on their return to the Championship would almost certainly mean relegation to League One & even further if the FL decided expulsion was the only punishment severe enough.
---
Disagree with this. It'd have to be a 30 point deduction for them to get relegated. They may be shíte, but there are far worse teams in the Championship. They'd stay up.
Genius.
very good article.
Tflop will be along shortly with his usual nonsense about Spurs being a club in crisis ( ), while ignoring the fact that actually QPR are in awful shape themselves - rubbish on the pitch and off it
If this is "One for Tblot", whoever that might be, and mainly about QPR I am not sure it has any place on the Tottenham forum.
But as it is is here, I too have seen those reports that you refer to in your article, but I see them as a non-story.
QPR's debt problems stem largely from their profligate time in the Premier league which was not sustainable in the Championship with lower revenues, so they did not spend "beyond their means to gain promotion" which is what the FFP rules are all about. They are probably some journalists thoughts on a slow news day in the middle of the vacuum of league football in favour of international football.
The fact that they gained promotion at all was the real scandal, achieving that over the teams that finished above them in the Championship. This money spinning exercise on the part of the football authorities should be scrapped and only those that gain the necessary points over the course of the season should be promoted.
to be honest I suppose its irrelevant as history tells us that QPR will be down where they belong in the lower leagues before too long anyway
Even as an Arsenal fan I see every year that Spurs either make a small profit or a small loss.
Just a rubbish version of Man City.
To be fair, until recently City were just a rubibsh version of City.
Disagree with this. It'd have to be a 30 point deduction for them to get relegated. They may be shíte, but there are far worse teams in the Championship. They'd stay up.
Normal penalty for breach of financial rules in Football League is 15 points. The FL is a far tougher league than the PL if teams start off with a double digit deficit.
Just me, Bill
Tblot is a QPR poster who keeps running Spurs down with things like we have wasted £130m(????) and Levy is destroying the club etc, just like to give him a taste of his own medicine.
It is on the Spurs board because I posted it there, or are you the moderator now?
I'd fancy them to stay up if they got a 15 point deduction. Lets be honest, they're a playoff team. Very rarely will they finish top, and they generally finish close to the top of the Championship.
Even if they finished nearly 40 points worse off last season, they'd have stayed up.
The fact that they gained promotion at all was the real scandal, achieving that over the teams that finished above them in the Championship. This money spinning exercise on the part of the football authorities should be scrapped and only those that gain the necessary points over the course of the season should be promoted.
Agree totally with this comment!
Completely agree that they shouldn't have been promoted, they were facking awful and Derby deserved it...but as they say, it's the final score that matters.
Though, my my mum's side of the family (Derby fans) weren't 'too' fussed with losing. They figured it was better for them to be competitive in the Championship, than finish with 12 points in the PL - turning out each week knowing you're going to lose must be quite hard!

That's for not making the obvious joke about United!
man u should wallop qpr this weekend
If they don't then LVG is as bad as Moyes, maybe worse. But I predict a 4-0 victory.
Just read that QPR's wage bill is higher than AC Milan, Napoli, Lazio or Fiorentina
In fact their wage bill is £78m & their income last year was around £64m..........................Go Figure!
To put things into perspective...................................AC Milan play in the San Siro which has a capacity of 80,000.
QPR play at Loftus Road, capacity 18,000
Spending all that money to go from an average Championship team to a yo-yo team. Don't see how that's worth it somehow.
Yohan's....................................I think what also shows is that getting to the PL is the Holy Grail regardless of the problems it can cause clubs financially in the long term.
Generic nonsense from this Spurs poster.
Let me address his problems with TBlock.
1). He didn't say Spurs would go bust. He said, you wasted your funds that available once in a life time. The transfer records shows, you never spent £130mil(whatever) in your history.
2). Football League has no power to exercise their rules over a Premier League club. And more over, QPR never signed Football League's FFP rules. When it goes to court, it will be thrown out by a Court Clerk let alone put in front of the jury.
3). Any team could get relegated from Premier League. Everyone saying Leeds United were too good to go down, but they went down. It might be QPR, West Ham or Spurs..you can't predict future.
4). You mentioned AC Milan's San Siro capacity for bigger revenues, but on the other hand, always downplay West Ham's new 58k ground for bigger revenues. That shows your hypocrisy.
5). If you don't know, AS Monaco's ground holds 18k and they play in Champions League but Spurs with 36k ground aren't.
maf your logic is astounding here. well done

Re: Point number 2 -
It does mention in the OP that it would happen WHEN QPR next go down. It mentions they are safe as long as they are in the PL Not 100% sure but I think they needed a majority vote (something like 14/20 in the PL) for it to be applicable for all teams.
If it worked how you're suggesting then City, Chelsea, Real, Barca, Monaco etc could have just not signed it and escaped any form of punishment.
4 - AC Milan most likely sell all of their tickets for a reasonable value. West Ham are likely going to struggle to fill it after the first half a season/full season once the novelty of it wears off. That is why it was ignored in that respect.
5 - Ground size isn't always a direct indicator of a team's quality, especially when they have billionaire owners. For example, City's ground only holds 40k or so, yet they are the current league champions and are currently better than United, who's ground holds almost 75k-76k
2). Football League has no power to exercise their rules over a Premier League club. And more over, QPR never signed Football League's FFP rules. When it goes to court, it will be thrown out by a Court Clerk let alone put in front of the jury.
Rubbish...............................QPR are going to be fined, if they then get relegated they come under the auspices of the FL.
You mentioned AC Milan's San Siro capacity for bigger revenues, but on the other hand, always downplay West Ham's new 58k ground for bigger revenues. That shows your hypocrisy.
Again more rubbish from the King of Rubbish Comments; Firstly the OS will not belong to West Ham, you are Co-Tenants. Secondly the capacity is 54,000 not 58,000.
And my comments pertaining to AC Milan is that they can fill their stadium every week, West Ham will only get anywhere near capacity if the big teams visit!
AS Monaco are another Russian billionaires toy & have also fallen foul of Uefa's FFP Rules, that is why they offloaded Falcao & Rodriguez in order to avoid being fined! Comparing them to QPR based on ground capacity is stupid, Monaco get even smaller crowds than QPR, but are not in debt!#
Epic failure on your part muffinboy
Finally, of course any team can be relegated from the PL, however historically certain clubs do it on a more regular basis and QPR are just one of these!
Rubbish...............................QPR are going to be fined, if they then get relegated they come under the auspices of the FL.
--
How is it rubbish? When the rules were made, QPR weren't under Football League? Please, if you don't know the law and it's power, you better close your shop.
AS Monaco were/are in debt. But, this debt written down by the owner, just like Chelsea. Again, why do you think Fernandez won't be writing their debt off?
The profits from San Siro will be shared by two clubs. Again, with your football knowledge, tell me how many times in a year San Siro gets filled? And, how do you know West Ham are not going to fill their stadium?
I had enough of listening to your rubbish. Next time provide some useful links for your claims.
