So lads, we are a month into the new season, our best player - Sturridge has succumbed to injury already, our new look back four is as leaky as last seasons and it would appear as though we are struggling.
From a fans point of view this is what I notice and think. So permit me to share a few opinions with you all.
Changing the entire back four to me seems like a mistake. Moreno is a very good signing and has a lot of quality but last night Enrique looked very good indeed as well. It's good to see a high level of quality in one position. Lovren is a good player, it is a massive shame Agger went as I was a huge fan. I don't know whether bringing Lovren in is a problem solver, perhaps inviting Ilori or Coates to take the step up in Agger's absence would have been braver and bolder. Even Kelly, homegrown, English talent. The Manquillo loan - again looks decent, but with Johnson being injured and Flanagan, these last 6 games or so would have allowed Wisdom to play regularly, again a homegrown, English talent. Instead he's off at another club. I feel we have over populated our first team with strangers and as a result lost some of the close family, even if temporarily in Wisdom's case.
Lallana is looking good and has a lot of quality but in signing him I'm not sure Markovic was necessary? We have Suso and we had Ibe before he got loaned out. Again another case of the already existing talents making way for new ones. I'd have liked Suso to be getting the games Markovic has got, just seems like a waste of money.
Emre Can I'm sure will develop into a quality player but at the moment seems a tad unnecessary. And Balotelli - I don't know what to think of him. Is he that good? A constant threat? He's fallen over more times than scored goals. Having said that I am looking forward to seeing him back in the league and I bet he has his moments this year that will have our jaws on the floor, but i just hope there are a lot of Mario's magic moments to remember.
It would be good to have in our heads a clear first 11 so we know what we got. I would personally like to see this as the go to team when all fit -
Mignolet
Flanagan----Lovren----Sakho---Moreno
-------------Gerrard-------Hendo
Suso------------Sterling-----------Lallana
-------------------Sturridge
I think that would be an effective team. As we have Lovren we might as well play him but it wouldn't be a bad thing to see Skrtel and Sakho teamed up.
I'd like to hear thoughts of a scathing or indeed a concurring manner.
Good but not Carling.

"He's already agreed to go to Milan"
Says the mirror gossip column and no-one else

Di Marzio said it too, he's generally spot on, one of the very few ITKs you can trust on twitter.

Yeah Torres scored a beaut of a header, pleased for him. I do hope on this occasion Neo that he is wrong cos I'm a big Suso fan. I think he fits the could perfectly

first off how the f is suso in your first 11??
second formation is the first times its been picked and won't be seen again for a while.
third.... and final... at least badontelly is not in there

He's in there because I would prefer to see him play over Markovic. perhaps Coutinho would be a more popular choice but Suso is a wild card. It's a gamble and those are exciting

On paper that formation looks good, but we have looked impotent with 1 striker so far this season. We need to find a balance with 2 up front.

1 up is not the issue so much as nobody gambling to get beyond badontelly and into the box as he constantly drops of and badontellyhimself making zero runs toward goal for a pass.

Badontelly? Is that supposed to be funny? I hope for your sake it is a bizarre predictive text issue.

Sadly, I think he/she/he-she is trying to be funny.

Just a question, I admit, but is anyone going to mention a player called Philippe Coutinho? It seems he has been airbrushed out of the body politic. He has a couple of not so good games, and he appeared to be history. Suso earned a new contract after Tuesday.
