Gotta hand it to the guy. People can live in denial all they want, but he's a tactical genius. Started the match at an insane intensity, outfighting and overpowering us and making sure they struck first after inevitably forcing us into errors. Kept it well after that. Then we started to get on top and he brought in Mikel to strengthen the midfield core and keep better possession. And then came the killer blow late on. We were edged out by that little extra quality and experience.
We weren't outplayed today and I'm not particularly mad at the team for losing. As an isolated match, we're not ENTITLED to beat Chelsea at the Bridge. But never winning in 12 matches against a Maureen led Chelsea is a frustrating record that we have to put right.
Chambers is a bit of a hot head and has to curb his over-enthusiasm. Gibbs has to start doing more with the ball in the good advanced positions he gets into. Alexis' decision making can be a bit dodgy at times. Ozil was ineffectual and has to start influencing these big games to be taken seriously. Welbeck huffed and puffed, but never looked like doing any real damage.
I hope we can string together a decent run now. The FA Cup and top 4 trophy is all we have left to fight for. Unless you believe we can overcome a 9 points to Chelsea or win the Champions League.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "It was an even game, but at the end of the day they have financial power and used it in a effective way with players like Diego Costa and Eden Hazard making the difference.

What about the 42m and 35m spent on Ozil and Sanchez?

I actually thought our imprecise shooting and over-elaborating in the build up is why we didn't work their keeper. We moved it every bit as well as they did. They finished chances more ruthlessly and Hazard and Cesc provided moments of magic for both goals. There really wasn't much in it.

That Wenger interview is childish and embarrassing. Maureen has clearly got under his skin.

This in particular reeks of sore loser. Disappointing

Wenger knows he isn't good enough anymore so spouts such rubbish to defend his incompetence.

No his general assessment of the game which I agree.

Pretty sure we worked your keeper more than 1 shot on target in the 90th minute. He should be banned for his rage outburst, which he tries to play down.
As for us having deserved 3 men sent off, again he's having a right laugh.
