Manchester United are planning a £20m move to bring Barcelona defender Gerard Pique back to Old Trafford. The 27-year-old moved to the Nou Camp in 2008. (Daily Star)
United will offer Real Madrid's 27-year-old anchorman Sami Khedira a contract worth £5.5m a year to try and beat Chelsea and Arsenal in the queue. (Daily Express)

Okay, so they are two terrible media outlets, but what I want to know is whether you would be happy with signing these two in January?
Khedira would add the energy and some bite to our midfield, which many point to as a major issue.
Pique has great passing ability and at his best is a very good defender who looks a little out of favour at Barca right now (at least he is no longer a guaranteed starter). On the upside in 8 games he has played this season his side have only conceded one goal.
What do you think, would you welcome Pique back to the club, and is Khedira a player who could continue to move us in the right direction?

I watched him for Udinese so I certainly wouldn't have said he was crap, he was excellent for them, only idiots would judge a player without properly seeing him

Rave, you know some of the people we have on here.

Yeah I know, but the way you keep going on about Benatia not being good enough for a Ligue 2 side 5 years ago (you've said it quite often) leaves me to believe you don't think he's a very good player, or not as good as he's made out to be, yet you make no comment on his actual abilities or lack of as it were, just seems like a daft thing to keep repeati without actually adding anything to it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I actually think he is a very good player, the case I am making is that he had some tough moments growing up but faith was shown and he's blossomed. Perhaps the same approach can be shown to what he have at the club already

Rooney will be fine as Captain
Let's give him some time eh?
He's certainly a leader in my eyes. Clearly LVGs too considering he appointed him ahead of his national captain from the WC
I'm sure he'll grow into the role
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Time will tell.
Have to say though that a captain still needs leaders around him. Utd dont have it from ddg onwards for me.
I think with a shmeical (sp) and a bruce and an irwin with a keane etc you could make the ref captain and it wouldnt matter
Rvp for holland and at arsenal had that at utd currently we dont and he lookd

Come February, I'd be content if our lineup was;
DeGea
Rafael Smalling Shawcross Blind
A.Herrera Strootman
(New RW) Rooney DiMaria
Falcao
Lindegaard Jones Evans Carrick Januzaj v.Persie Wilson
Shaw & Rojo have both failed to impress me so far. I still have high hopes for Luke Shaw - he'll be a star one day, but Rojo doesn't belong unfortunately. Never a United defender and not the type of defender we need.
Give me Shawcross as a powerhouse no nonsense centre half & leader while we settle. I'd even make him vice captain. Very underrated player who, if not for the Piqué situation, would have played 100+ games for us at minimum by now.
