I think Poch's coaching skills were vastly exaggerated. He is no better than most managers. He needs to buy his players thats all. He needs 2-3 transfer windows.
I thought he was a good coach. I'm now seeing he isn't. He is just a manager that is ineffective without players that have already been coached in his theories.
What he did at southampton may have worked because he had young, listeners that were energetic but more credit probably needs to go to their academy that produces talent every year.
I think Poch got lucky. I hope he gets lucky at Spurs. But this is the last club you come to if you are expecting Lady luck to smile at you.
To be honest my emotions on Spurs will be reserved until end of January. Lets see what happens in the window.
What is clear is Poch is already making fundamental mistakes in selection and transfers. He must have agreed to loan Holtby and sell Siggs. Whilst keeping Paulinho. Both of which would have contributed more positively to our campaign at this point.
Let's see what he has learnt by January. I sincerely hope we see an improvement otherwise it WILL BE a relegation battle.
Losing 4/6 home games is pathetic return when he has had this squad for over 4 months to coach and drill and instil this 'magical' mentality he keeps going on about.
Poch is not a good coach...but he'll do!!

Harry, AVB and Sherwood did not deserve the sack (for footballing reasons at least), Poch is doing a worse job than all three of those.
Sherwood had the same squad of players and we played better football, won more points and looked like a team.
We are seeing no signs of improvement, I hope Poch turns it around quickly but game by game he is becoming more and more a dead man walking imo.
There is no point saying Poch needs 2 or 3 windows to get his own players in, Levy was never going to massively overhaul the squad again, Poch had to work with what we have and he is making a bad job of it.

I believe thats why levy hired him. He wanted a coach to get us playing.
But this does not change the fact that 2 key signings could change his and our fortunes around.
Our Spine is weak. Quality DM pass maestro is needed. Sit deep and launch play
Bully of a forward...no tippy tappy stuff. Man mountain that stays central and causes problems for opposition CBs.
These two players would change our play drastically.

Re: Paulinho, the fact that Pochettino has hardly used him so far this season suggests it wasn't an either or decision between him and Sigurdsson. If a decent offer had arrived, Paulinho probably would have left too. As he didn't, Holtby was loaned out.

still a mistake. Why loan out Holtby. We didn't need to balance the books. I would rather loan out Paulinho to Hull.

I imagine Paulinho is on pretty high wages and it was difficult to get another club to take him, even on loan. The decision to let Holtby leave suggests that Pochettino was content to put faith in some of our younger players (Bentaleb, Mason) if need be.
If Pochettino didn't fancy either of them, keeping both Paulinho & Holtby would have represented a lot of wasted wages.

I would rather lose wages than points...finishig 1 position higher in the league covers any wages savings that a loan would have achieved.
Very odd logic by our boardroom if you are correct..

I don't think he's a bad or overrated coach/manager, however this is his first job where he's probably expected to win the majority of his matches as opposed to espanyol and Southampton where top 10/europa league was a standard or good achievement

Levy keeps signing managers like this. I think he is afraid of having to deal with an equal. He is the True Darth Lord..

How can you judge a manager that hasn't been given the funds to create his own team? This is AVB's team really (or Baldini's depending on who's responsible). There is nothing to be gained from sacking the manager. Either stick to what we have or sell what we have and recruit other players. Simple. We need to give poch at least a fresh, blank canvas.

Sherwood had no funds and had almost the same squad of players as Poch, we had better results, played better football and looked like a team. If Sherwood can get results out of our squad, then why can`t Poch?
The more games that pass the more I am convinced we have a decent squad of players that are being stifled by a manager who does not know how to get the best out of them.

When did I say sack Poch? It's just clear he's not a good coach.
A good coach makes a team better irrespective of transfers...Poch has failed on this account.
IF he needs his own players then he is no different to most managers in the market. You and I can manage a team that we bought. You don't need a coaching badge for that.
