rumour, I would be thanking the big Barman in the sky, that he would effectively be using Chelsea to strike a higher deal with Barca.
I think Messi is a fantastic player. In Spain and in the Champions league for his club, whom have in most years built the team around him and 2 others.
But I don't think the guy would suit playing in the Premiership and for me it would be a bigger waste of money than Torres. Because of course, the fee would be considerably higher than the Torres fee.
So i will go on record here and now and say I don't want Messi to play for Chelsea.
Don't get me wrong he may put on 2 performances at some point this season that help Barca blow Chelsea out of the Champions League.
But Torres always played well against Chelsea (Messi except for in 2006) usually has been quite subdued by our defence.
Even if there was some truth in the Messi..

Albeit if we got him I'd still love it. But just saying I'd prefer to do the 3 deals above, as we need a RW, a future great CB and another great midfielder.

Problem is we don't need him and he doesn't fit anywhere in our team. And for half the price we could get all 3 of Varane, Pogba and Reus. 3 future long term signings, and 3 quality players to fill 3 positions

Look how well Aguero performed in the league in contrast to the PL proven Torres. Costa was not PL proven too. I hope people stop with this PL proven bullsh*t.

Flash you are seriously over rating the PL defences, they are crap.
The only good defences in this league is ours and Saints and even ours isn't that great compared to our a decade ago.
