People talking up our title chances

I think some of our players and some pundits have been too going a bit overboard and putting us back in the title race after our recent good run.

Now as much as we would love it to be true I think the ship has sailed for this season but 3rd place should be our aim. To make up 11 points against a machine like Chelsea is too much in my opinion. I think we have the 3rd best squad excluding the top 2, only a fully fit Arsenal squad rivalling ours.

I think the 1st three games ruled us out of the title race but our starting XI for those three games was way inferior to our team now. We had Cleverley, Fletcher, Blackett and Hernandez starting in some of those games and playing 3-5-2. If we had the same team then as we have now I think we could have got at least 7 points from those games and been right in the title race but its all if and buts.

But anyway people need to stop getting carried away with this title talk and take one game at a time and secure top 4. No reason why we shouldn't be right in the title mix next year. I just have a feeling its starting to become enjoyable supporting United again.

Who is saying United could win the league?

Alot of our players and some pundits are saying we can

Arguably it's too early to write off any of Liverpool, United or Arsenal but I think we all know in our hearts it's definitely not happening.

As soon as Chelsea signed Costa & Cesc I was convinced the title was theirs. I think it will take a long term injury to both to stop them.

Chelsea won't even get the 2nd longest league unbeaten streak from start of season. Liverpool won 12 drew 1 and lost 1 of there last 14 league games last season and guess what they didn't win the league. Chelsea won 11 drawn 3 getting 36 points out of 42 vs Liverpool infamous slip up gaining 37 points out of 42. Man city won 12 drew 2 of there first 14 league games in 2011/12 season and in the end needed a miracle to win the title and they did. The way Chelsea have been made out is they are unstoppable force when they could easily have lost the 3 away games they have drawn in clear chances wise.

We've probably seen bigger collapses, but this would be monumental from Chelsea.

Man city had a better start in 2011-12 season and scraped the title. 11 points isn't that much. I know its unlikely but if Chelsea drop another 6 or 7 points in next 5 games before new year and we win our games we could be right there in amongst it within a couple of results of overturning them with Chelsea having a busy fixture list 2nd half of season.

The problem is that you need both Chelsea and City to drop significant points, one club might, for both to is unlikely. The second problem is that we would need to go on a great run, I have no doubt our results will continue to improve but to the extent to overtake the top 2 will be very tough.

I wouldn't expect any player / manager of a big club to say 'we can't win the league', especially before the turn of the year, unless they're involved in the over-rated 'mind games', so the odds are stacked against us, but once in a while they can be overturned. It's not rocket science to say it won't happen, but there's a tiny bit in all of us which will still say 'you just never know'.......................

United weren't 11 points behind City after 14 games in 2011/12. They were 5 points behind. Which ultimately proved too much for United to finish that season as champions.

Keep wondering whether people think the players called SKY or the Beeb and said, hey! I'm talking to you. Utd are going to win the league

Some probably do.

I love how a SSNews person makes a statement, followed by "well, that's according to....". Comics in tv form, with fit bltches to keep us watching.

Now Jamie Carragher trolling Man utd. De Gea has done really well this season but people make it sound like he has been busy in every game. De Gea normally has nothing to do for first 80 minutes of games at OT except pick the ball out the net now and again.

What I have been impressed with is conceding one of the fewest shots on our goal this season.

Jamie Redknapp predicts 2-2 draw and rates Carrick highly and mentioned that Carrick pass to RVP against Hull. To be honest Man utd need to win and seeing 3rd place in sight we will be up for it especially as it is the last game of this round of fixtures.
