Pundits were just saying Spurs fluked their result

Can't say I disagree

Thoughts?

We were not good but Created a good few chances and didn't take them. United were not good either creatd a few less but took theirs.

Overall it was two average sides but uniteds higher quality in goal and in front of goal won them the game.

They were pretty comfortable after the third goal went in that save from de gea from mario at two nil was a defining moment had we scored then it could have been different but not to be.

Fair play to United

If so far this season our finishing had been good, then you could say we were a bit unlucky, we had an off day in front of goal.

That hasn't been the case though.

We have struggled for goals all season and continue to do so. The game was utterly predictable and you can't just hide behind 'deserving' to win.

Van Gaal played at attacking team because they knew their attack was better than ours. They knew they would concede chances with their weak defence but they didn't care in this game because they knew we were unlikely to hurt them as much as they would hurt us.

We are paying the price for our inability to address the weaknesses in the side and failure to plan for Suarez departure in anything like an adequate fashion.

"we did enough to win"

did you create enough clear cut chances to score a goal?
did you do enough to stop the opposition scoring three goals?

answer those questions honestly and I think the conclusion to this article has been reached - its a false and deluded statement.

My guess is that you didn't watch the game. Go on, admit it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I watched it in full, one team did enough to win, the other didnt. The result reflected this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you watched the game, which I doubt, why did you ask the stupid question "did you create enough clear cut chances to score a goal"?

Reading this thread from a neutral viewpoint is incredibly amusing.

Did Liverpool "do enough" to win the game. Clearly not, as they didn't win the game! It's not just about creating chances, it's about putting those chances that you do create away. Which Liverpool never did. So, no, Liverpool did not do enough to win the game.

Did Liverpool create enough chances that had they been taken would have meant the game ended with a different result? Obviously!

Liverpool played well, yet they still lossed the game 3-0. That is not a good sign. Recall the QPR-Liverpool game, when Liverpool fans, to their credit, admitted that they were second best yet nevertheless won the game. Today, as this thread testifies, Liverpool created chances yet the scoreline suggests that they were well beaten.

And ultimately, no matter how anyone wishes to dress it up, Liverpool WERE well beaten.

Instead of arguing the toss, there is undoubtedly something not right about Liverpool this season. They simply haven't kicked on and progressed from their very impressive showing last season. Yes, Suarez has been sold, and to lose a player of that ilk is going to affect any team, yet last season Liverpool fans (on this site at least) were quick to state that their performances last season weren't just down to Luis Suarez.

I actually argued otherwise at that time. At that time I put forward the argument that having such a player gave the other Liverpool players much more confidence, which resulted in them playing as a team, a collective, much better than the individual sum of the parts (so to speak).

This season, with Suarez gone, the confidence of the remaining players is no longer there. They are simply not as self-assured. Understandably so. Add to that the loss of Sturridge through injury, and it's not exactly surprising that Liverpool have struggled to get anywhere near the levels of performance that they attained last season.
