I have just read an article regarding Alex Macdonald on the bbc league two news, where Jimmy Floyd Hasslebank is gutted he has lost his star striker for two weeks ! .Im sorry but it did make me smile ,because although i accept Macdonald is having a better season ,if we are relying on him being our main goal threat god help us . Personally im more concerned as to Shane Cansdell- Sheriffs availability on saturday .I would like to see Jimmy Phillips on from the start against Shrewsbury , taking on his full back and getting some quality crosses hopefully to the head of Blyth , although id swop centre forwards and have Collins of Shrewsbury our ex -striker im afraid, who i have an awful feeling is going to be their match winner ..

I have been one of the harshest critics of Big Mac since he has been at the club. However, credit where credit is due, he has been much improved this season. I was actually disappointed when he went off against Tranmere.
Maghoma and Jimmy are 2 other players in our time in the football league who spent / have spent too much of their time not being particularly effective.
The one thing that you have got to say is that it is excellent management by JFH. Big Mac must feel pretty good being spoken about in those terms by a footballing legend. JFH heaped praise on Robbie Weir soon after joining and he has been superb ever since.
Turning to Jacob Blyth, a few games ago I was beginning to think that it was time to eat humble pie with regards my opinion of him. He was starting to score goals and look quite useful at times. However, I am not going to put the oven on for that humble pie yet.
As for Cansdell-Sheriff, his 2 goals since the Shrewsbury game have gone some way towards rectifying his howler in that game. Walking back to the car after that game I wondered how costly that 1 point loss and 2 point gain for Shrewsbury might be.

You will see the Champions at the weekend ,i cant see Shrewsbury not ending up as league leaders at the end of the season . They just have that solid home form , and firepower to overcome tight games away from home.

They were pretty average when we played them away Stuart. Plymouth, Cambridge and Luton to name but 3 all looked much better than them at our place.
