I have been one of the harshest critics of Big Mac since he has been at the club. However, credit where credit is due, he has been much improved this season. I was actually disappointed when he went off against Tranmere.
Maghoma and Jimmy are 2 other players in our time in the football league who spent / have spent too much of their time not being particularly effective.
The one thing that you have got to say is that it is excellent management by JFH. Big Mac must feel pretty good being spoken about in those terms by a footballing legend. JFH heaped praise on Robbie Weir soon after joining and he has been superb ever since.
Turning to Jacob Blyth, a few games ago I was beginning to think that it was time to eat humble pie with regards my opinion of him. He was starting to score goals and look quite useful at times. However, I am not going to put the oven on for that humble pie yet.
As for Cansdell-Sheriff, his 2 goals since the Shrewsbury game have gone some way towards rectifying his howler in that game. Walking back to the car after that game I wondered how costly that 1 point loss and 2 point gain for Shrewsbury might be.
You will see the Champions at the weekend ,i cant see Shrewsbury not ending up as league leaders at the end of the season . They just have that solid home form , and firepower to overcome tight games away from home.
They were pretty average when we played them away Stuart. Plymouth, Cambridge and Luton to name but 3 all looked much better than them at our place.
