The official manchester united website is running a regular feature to establish the best United XI chosen by fans.
I am aware listing Sir Bobby as a forward is a bone of contention as many have stated he played as a central midfielder / attacking midfielder. Valid points.
However, man.utd.com have listed the living legend as a forward on the basis that he played predominantly as a inside forward. Many have cited BBC documentaries where he supposedly stated by modern terms he was a midfielder. I've yet to see the documentary but if anyone has a YouTube link it may shed some light although would do little to change the way man.utd.com have structured their poll.
Links to the midfield thread below so you can continue your discussions over the matter.

Could not fault his movement, his timing or being in the right position - it is his technique which was laughable at times. More often than not he would shin a goal in ! He also needed 6 or 7 chances to score one. However, rewind a few seasons back he was lethal, working in tandem with Beardsley for Newcastle, his strikes truer, he rarely missed.

Rooney could take Cantona's place in time.
