If true, we should go for him. Tall, strong, defensively sound. Would let us phase out or rotate the unmotivated Mert. Would give us many years of good service (since with Kos and Mert approaching 30 we should slowly start thinking about their eventual replacement).

What a complete clown this guy is.

Arsenal may be seriously underperforming but they're still a huge pull for players mainly because they think Wenger is still a decent manager. Add to that the fact that Wenger is French, I'd in fact make Arsenal one of the big favourites to sign Varane if he's to leave Real.

Half of the teams on that list are just desperate.

Arsenal would easy be one if top 3 teams. The fact Özil has already gone from Madrid to Arsenal would make it even more likely since Madrid are our feeder club
