Varane reportedly available for 20M

No chance.

No brainer really, but if that was true than the competition would be immense, surely?

Good luck

He is their main backup. I think its probably his agent trying to get a first team place for him. No chance Madrid sell.

Can't believe that the rumour's true. He recently signed a new deal, and pretty much every club in the world would want him, which would push up the price Real could demand.

Even still, Pepe turns 32 next month, so I suspect they'll phase Varane in soon enough.

verane for 20M says who? OP do you really think that's realistic?

literally no chance Arsenal will sign him...

he would have the pick of clubs across Europe. as pointed out above he will stay at RM most likely, but failing that he would go to at least 10 clubs before Arsenal...

nothing to see here

Same situ as with Cavani in Paris then J99, whom you repeatedly mention as a target that should be pursued.

Probably, but you can't know if you don't try.
I suggest we try. Better to try and fail than not try at all, and who knows, you might just succeed.
Also, I genuinely doubt there are 'at least' 10 clubs he'd go to before chosing Arsenal.

Good point, this "pick of the top clubs" is a bit overdone.

If we assume he won't court the hatred of his current fans by jumping ship to Barca/Atletico, in reality that means the pick of the big English clubs + PSG + Bayern. Serie A is a long way off its former peaks, and with Dortmund/Monaco having imploded there aren't that many big teams left.

Really?

Barca, Athletico, Bayern, Milan, Juve, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, PSG, Porto..... off the top of my head.

He aint coming to Arsenal.

Athletico... no chance. Also doubt he would go to Barca.

I agree that he probably won't, because Arsenal are behind a few of the English clubs, but if you'd read my post you'd have seen me rule out the other two Spanish teams - when did an established player last move from Real to either of them? - the Portuguese league is rubbish (again, find me a French international who has moved there for more than £20m), and there is one very good reason he would pick Arsenal over Juventus (aside from the fact that Serie A is pretty poor, see both Juventus and Roma in Europe), namely money.

Ronaldo was not sold by one to the other...so that leaves you with one high profile example over the past 20 odd years.

Because they're banned from signing players...

we posted the comments at the same time so I could not have seen yours when I wrote it!

I will let you all get excited thinking we have a chance of signing the player and leave you all to that thought.

Just seen AC Milan on the list as well

He's french lets not forget!

Not a frenchman in sight anywhere else in England bar City and they went for Mangala. Highly unlikely all the same but more because I don't think he would leave Real.

Milan are buying the likes of Adil Rami and Cristian Zapata now, hardly in contention for 20M defenders.

Neither are Porto, who literally live by a 'buy cheap, sell expensive, repeat' strategy.

PSG have spent 100m+ on Silva, Marquinos and Luis so I'd say we're joint 3rd in the queue with Utd after Chelsea and Bayern.
