It's ok to repent

For those who couldn't stand me whenever I supported Wenger early on in the season, feel free to raise the white flag.

Thank you!

The Codpiece or whatever your name is, you are clearly a fully fledged AKB from your various comments on here. All I was trying to do was show there are arguments the other way as well.

But your AKB blinkered arguments are flawed.

No one including Wenger expected Coq to turn out as good so its justified to say he got lucky with that.

Against Brighton I argued that we should have played a stronger team with only Sanchez, Kos or Mert and Santi needing to be rested from the team that won against Man City as all of the others had at least a short break at some point. Missing that one game would have given a two week break, which is equivalent of the winter break where they have one. Wenger took out Ospina, Bellerin, Mert, Coq, Ox, Cazorla and dropped Sanchez to the bench but used him and low and behold, he got injured. So your argument of playing Sanchez as we needed a strong team can easily be discredited.

I cant be bothered with this any more so will stop there

The Godfather (sorry if responding with numbered points appears rude. Not intentional. Just easier this way).

1. Appreciate what you're saying but I still think that while we were in poor form, both collectively and individually, playing Özil in his preferred position(s) would have been a logical thing to at least try. In fact one of his best performances before his injury was away against Villa, (yeah, I know) where he was deployed more centrally.

Still, his time out seems to have instilled a little more resolve in him. Hopefully we'll now see him become the player that, at least those of us that didn't give up on him, we hoped he'd be.

2. Whilst I'm chuffed to see Coquelin starting to fulfil his promise, the fact that we've looked a more solid unit since his reintroduction, to me, shows we never needed a 'World Class' DM in the first place. As I said already, we just needed an upgrade on Flamini and Arteta, (two players I still like btw).

Coquelin came in and did the basic things well. A few games later he's improving on that. If he continues his progress I wouldn't be devastated if he's made first choice DM, with Arteta plus Bielek as his back ups.

Again though, the improvement in the team with a non-World Class DM makes me question whether reinforcing this area last summer was really so unachievable.

3. Wenger is a football romantic. This was fine when he had the players that he could just put out every week and know they were head and shoulders above all but one other team in the league at the time. But as we've fallen away over the years, he needed to change his philosophy.

That he didn't cost us dearly. There was still a large percentage of teams we could beat at a stroll, but we've finished 4th too many times due to the manager thinking we can just turn up and 'do our stuff' against teams either better equipped to win, or better coached not to lose than us.

4. Mentioning Arshavin was just me being mischievous. Had I wanted to push it more I could've said Chamakh... or perhaps even Bendtner.

5. What's going on with Dortmund, (and Klopp) is a strange one. I follow the Bundesliga and, a few matches apart, it's not as if Dortmund have even been playing that badly.

Still, Klopp wasn't the only manager touted as a possible replacement for Wenger. Simeone was another. I'm sure there were more...

Not that I can be bothered with any of that anyway. Not much point being all 'Wenger Out' when we all know he's got the job at Arsenal for as long as he wants it.

Even if there was some justification for an article like this is the self congratulatory nature of it necessary?
Yeah Wenger sent Coquelin on loan to Charlton because he was in his plans , some of the assertions people will make to support their agenda's seemingly knows no bounds.

Lexington Sanchez 125.2 (U8879) all the points you make can be seen as valid points depending on your stance. Nothing is black and white in football and am always happy to debate the grey areas

Godfather is probably the only rational true "AKB" (as much as I hate those childish acronyms) on the site.

The rest are utter morons.

Wenger told Coq he should be in the first team but that he needed some [laying time to get u to s[eed. (Letter u[side down b doesnt work). Its in his re match interview for the villa game look it u. Thierrys comments can be found too, you can do it!

For me it is not about whether AKB but whether he is the man to take us forwards. In my holhearted oinion many of us take his class for granted. I don't see enough raise for the layers we have brought in, comare that to liverool and surs. We are well and truely matching the big boys now - maybe thats to be exected but be atient because we will win the league within two years.
