Great news for United and England.

Of the crop of young talent starting to flourish at OT, i have to say i have been most impressed with Phil Jones so far, they guy looks immense and a natural leader. I can understand why people have touted him as a future England captain.
Personally, i would rather have him promoted to the full squad now and have Capello retire the carthorse that is John Terry, who is the epitome of everything that is wrong with the England set up. Indeed i would retire a few of them - Lampard (age), Ferdinand (fitness), Crouch (ability), Barry and look to promote younger equivalents.
I am interested in others opinions - should we go for inexperienced youth with England, or play safe with experienced older players? My argument would be, where has all this experience gotten us - we were hideously embarrassed by Germany in the World Cup with this "experienced" outfit, and their team was full of youth players who graduate from their under-21s....maybe like United, England should give youth a chance.....after all you can win anything with kids....
Phil Jones earns England call up

Terry - great for England?
Pah.

Sadly, we are stuck with Terry not only in our team, but as our captain for the next tournament. Capello won't drop him and we all know it. He'll be gone soon though.

I would put Jarvis in there ahead of Downing. Also Joey Barton, lets face it, he deserves a call up and he has a different attitude to the rest of the money grubbing pampered players that are regulars.

How does barton deserve a call up?

Jones has done very well since coming to United. Looks a good player for the future.
The adulation he has been getting from some fans and press has been ridiculous and quite frankly unfair on the lad. He has played just2 games for United. When at Blackburn he went largely unnoticed by most fans. But now we hear statements such as, 'future England captain', and 'will be the best in the world'.
You could not expect or predict more of a young 19 year player than this.
Its grossly unfair on him. If he doesn't make these heady heights he will be deemed a failure by those who did.
The same happened to Wes Brown when he first got in United's first team. Anybody remember? People said exactly the same of him as they are saying of Jones which was a major contribution and hindered his development.
Lay off Jones and let him get on with it.

I agree that we should take young players to the Euro's. We aren't going to win it anyway with Spain, Germany and possibly France all far better than out current side.
I'd drop Gerrard, Terry, Lampard, Ferdinand, Barry and Crouch. Apart from Ferdinand none of them have ever performed for England in a tournament.
Bring in the young players to give them tournament experience and prepare them for Brazil 2018.I think all the usual talk that "we can win it this time" evaporated after the 2010 performance so there is no pressure now anyway.

Barton was playing fantastically last season, and was performing better than any of the England regulars but didn't get a call up. In the first two games of this season he has continued his form and played well.
Who else has played better?
Garrard=injured, not played this season
Lampard=not performed great great so far
Henderson=played Ok so far
Carrick=not played this season
Barry=meh, I think most players agree he is highly overrated and past his best.
Parker=playing in championship
Wilshere=injured not played this season.
Huddleston= injured, not played this season.
Can You name any other central midfielders who are starting for their club teams, playing better than Barton and could play at international level for England?
The only two I can think of are Muamba and Cleverly who both have significantly less experience than Barton.

"Jones has done very well since coming to United. Looks a good player for the future."
He did very well for us for a season and a half and it was no coincidence that his return coincided with an upturn in our disastrous form under Klueless Kean.
However this comment from Capello - wtf!!
"We need to wait because so far he has played one Premier League game and some minutes at Wembley. But potentially he is a fantastic player.
"He needs to play more games with Manchester United.
"I remember when Wilshere started to play with Arsenal. First he did well, then better, better, better and after four months he was at the top. I understood he was ready to play with the national team."
Jones has played a full season and a half with us - his Premiership debut was against Chelsea. Yet he's only played one game?! and is only good enough to be considered once he moves to Man U? Same with Wilshere - a good full season with Bolton and he is only considered once he starts playing regularly with Arsenal?
I give up on this elitist manager and would join those questioning exactly what he's adding to the national team.
