Karls marker for Sam was £1.2m - according to newpaper reports this morning, West Ham had a £2m bid rejected (which they thought would be a killer bid) because another team (rumoured to the the £12m rich Southampton) made a better offer.
Assuming this all only leads on one direction - how would you spend £2m on players? Clear we have a central defender to be got (might be a loan) but we also will need a Sammy replacement - more important for me if we are to keep our goal fest going
£1.2m marker now £2.0m

Hopefully this means Powell will get more game time... I really rate him. On a side not I really think KR has done an unbelievable job thus far but I can't help but feel that if we went up we would lose out manager to a Premiership club or perhaps even a championship heavyweight, he is young and English like Baldock so clubs will definately look at him if we do get promotion.

very much agree Furz - had a good long listen to the Karl Robbinson interview and read his comments - it looks shrewd - and tomorrow will be physical

I think this game and Carlisle away will be two of our hardest. I hope we can show our quality while matching them for effort and strength.

Sadly will be away for the Carlisle game, but looking forward to tomorrow and I hope for revenge in the cup last year. And lets hope we get a decent crowd, cause last year they out shouted us - probably cause it was so cold. This will be one of the key tests - how we play against a physical side.

Very true and I thought they were the best away support (fan for fan) last season as well as being the strongest team.
We still need another centre back before the deadline. I heard Zubar from Plymouth, but that has gone quiet.

Your right about a central defender - I think Flannigan will be a great player for us - but we need more strength - and frankly much a I love Lewie - he really is making too many errors, and I hate to say it but he will become the weak point - his plus side is his passion, commitment etc - but time is (like it does for all of us) is catching up

Played ok against Chesterfield though (even if we let in two goals, one a fluke admittedly and the other young Chicko messed it)

I think you will see that it was errors, or poor challenges by Lewie in both cases that led to the goals. Young Chicko was left in the lurch cause Lewie fluffed the challenge

Actually Chicko fluffed it first. If you see the replay Chicko is desperate to get back after he made it but it was too late. An air shot if I remember correctly. I still rate him, but if you can't stand up you aren't any good defending.

Yep, was looking at the wrong goal, Chicko slipped (as did a few that day - was a really greassy pitch) - its still on the beeb
