Please go now we have had enough

Villa are the classic "too good to go down".
On paper they are too good. It is a decent squad.
But not only is Lambert clueless as to how to line-up and approach each game, he is also clueless as to how to motivate that "decent squad":
And as Real has just said, the players are not trying.
Wolves were in a similar position a few years ago; they had a decent enough team. But too many of the players had lost interest. And no-one had the bälls to clean out the deadwood.
Result? They dropped two divisions.

I think the players are motivated, although if this continues that may be in question. The problem is that when we go out on the pitch it still looks like a training exercise. It's all about style of play, currently the passing game. It's not about putting the opposition under real pressure. That comes from understanding the opposition and putting in place the tactics to succeed against them. That's down to Lambert, not the players.
Anybody but an idiot would have realised how Bruce was going to approach the game; we were going to face a wall of players, and possession of itself was going to count for nothing. We should have done what other teams do to us; sat back, kept it tight, and forced them to make a move. After all, they needed the win more than we did.
Last night was the one match above all others where a boring 0-0 draw would have been a worthwhile result. And who knows, with Hull getting desperate we might have nicked it, in spite of our weak scoring record. As it was, we went out to play as though we could afford to take risks, and that was plain stupid.
Lambert now says we'll have to play dirty (McLeish's favourite phrase I seem to remember). By that I suppose he means we'll have to grind out points by any means possible. Dead right, we do. Back to a mean defence, starting with Stoke.
Lambert also says we're facing 13 cup finals. No we're not. In cup finals you go for it, it's your one chance to win; draws count for nothing. We're facing 13 matches where we make it as difficult as possible for the opposition and draws are OK. Do that and we might even score some goals.

I'm amazed you guys didn't go for Moyes before he went to Real Sociedad, he's exactly what you needed, I'm sure he would of joined you too as you're a big club with history.
What's happening with you guys now is exactly what was happening to us in the 90's, a god damn awful Chairman/Owner, poor managers and battling relegation.
I think you will just about be safe this season but you deffo need to change it before next season.

Apart from getting clear of the Championship relegation zone, the god damn awful Chairman/Owner and poor managers is still happening to you.

Really!?!
Whilst Kenwright is not great he's 10 times better than what Johnson was and as for poor managers? Hmmmmm, Moyes took us from relegation candidates to Euro challangers and regular top 6/7 finishes.
Martinez is having a bad season but last season's 5th place finish (with points that have always got 4th before then) is too early to say he's a crap manager for us!
WBA's past couple of managers have hardly been quality now have they?
