also what about ings, if he does come in thats sturridge origi mario ings and sterling (assuming lambert and borino are sold) nice mixture, all offer different things, though youd think it means sterling plays deeper more often than not

I can just see Mario leaving really. In hindsight I'd rather have left the Origi transfer and got Ings but things change quickly in football.

As it stands Sterling doing the business as a striker is a massive bonus for us.

Origi won't be a regular starter next season. He will start games but in the cups a lot and with the odd PL start.

I would be happy with Origi, Sturridge, Ings and Sterling next season.

Mario has done ok lately but I am still convinced he will be off in the summer.

Thing is he will only be off is someone buys him. We'll see but I still quite like him and there is a definite improvement in his team play. I thought BR's comments about Balo stopping playing once he hit the penalty were quite telling though.

if mario makes a decent contribution in the next few months and we finish strongly I can't see him going

It's in his hands really now

whether or not can (if given the chance) make a partnership that works with Studge and/or Sterling will be the decider IMO

I think we will loan him this summer if we can't sell him.

We didn't want to do it in January because we couldn't risk it but in the summer with a good loan fee I don't think we will have any such qualms.

He's only got two years on his deal this summer so two seasons on loan might be as lucrative as selling him anyway.

hopefully lovren actually plays lcb instead of learning a new side

Zzzzzzz. Change the record please. You spent the entire first half of the match thread slating the tactical decisions of BR and we trotted out 0-2 winners.

Get behind the players.

He's a flaming imbecile. He thinks because Lovren plays left centre back it means he can't play right centre back. Worse he thinks because Lovren plays left centre back in a two, he should play left of a three, even though the wide centre backs are expected to get wide and pass the ball, which obviously a right footer will find easier on the right.

He doesn't know what he's talking about.

Lovren will probably be RCB tomorrow with Toure on the left as Toure is more comfortable on the ball too for that side.

In the 3 system Lovren is best suited to the centre, but with Skrtel on fire he has no chance of getting a game there.

I agree, Lovren is perfect for the centre and Skrtel would suit the right better than Lovren, however Skrtel has been excellent this season so I wouldn't be messing about with it too much.

I, for one, am heartened to read that BR is taking the youth with the squad. The opportunities taken by him thus far have proved good. I will be somewhat surprised if he doesn't give some of them the chance.

With regard to the state of the pitch, last Sunday's experience will or should stand them in good stead.

I agree with one and all that if - big if - we can get an early goal, then things will look good.

The next two games are huge, esp City which I've got a ticket for. I am very confident that Brendan and the team will deliver.
