It's a bit 'emperor's new clothes' for me. Every time I've seen him play in the last season and a half, he's severely under-whelmed me.
What I see is a slow-ish average player who seems to be very popular with football insiders - good bloke and all that, friend of Jaimie, the know-little football writers were seduced enough to vote him player of the year etc but the 'He almost single-handedly kept West Ham up' myth has gone a bit too far. The truth is he was instrumental in West Ham getting relegated.

Someone posted here that he has a mate who's a season ticket holder at West Ham and he hates Parker - he slows everything down, does 5 pirouettes every time he gets the ball.

Sorry, but none of that is enough of a reason to sign an average player for £6m who's 31 years old who will join the long list of deadwood eating up our scarce resource of wages cash sooner rather than later I fear

Parker almost kept them up = He got them relegated


I also think he wouldn't add much to the team.

Since when have we become a club that gets players in on loan? I can only think of Mido and Dalmat in the past.

That being said - I'd be satisfied with Parker, but only on loan
