Every away game rather than check our opponents form or who is injured I now find myself checking the nick of their pitch instead. The old cliche about its the same for both teams can only be used so many times. I can think of about 3 teams that have a decent surface in the top league. Ronnie has said it himself that all teams should go with artificial pitches if it means decent fitbaw can be played.
I know we have the lighting that allows our pitch to get a decent amount of sunlight and maybe this is something that the SPFL should invest in for the other teams.
Out of the 12 SPFL teams I can only think of the mighty hoops, St Mirren, Kilmarnock and possibly Aberdeen and Dundee that have playable surfaces. The rest are proper pash.
PLus point with Hearts coming up is that they always have a decent surface. So do Hibs....as do Rangers.....but I aint too sure if they will come up.

Totally agree on the pitches, but it comes down to money and teams in Scotland don't have it

maybe they could save up their pocket money?

This is the worst I've known United's pitch to be. It's never the best, but it's certainly normally better than this.
And in our defence, have you seen some of the pitches down in England too? You can tell which teams in England have money by the state of their surface.
We've just been unfortunately that it's been a tough winter (in terms of gardening).
I'd rather have summer football than a league full of artificial pitches though.

Killie's astro pitch is a belter. We played some crackin fitbaw on it first game back after our winter break. As long as it is watered then I have no issues with it.

The pitches aren't pristine in comparison to some of tje English clubs bit that's coz Scottish football is skint.. There just isn't the money there to invest in state of the art technology.
And the pitches today are still head and shoulders above where they were even 20 years ago when Tommy Burns' teams were playing some great stuff. You can't always blame the pitch.. Especially when our old training ground resembled a tattie field.
