Yes we jut lost a semi final vs a team we should have done much better against, yes we look like having an uphill struggle for 4th and yes we also failed to get past the semi final stage in the CCup. Its funny but i bet no one was mentioning getting rid of BR last year, or mentioning his tactics vs the bigger teams.
We all know it was a season where we had to integrate several new players and it was also the first time BR had to compete in the CL as well as three other trophies, add in losing one of europes best players and then the injury to our other striker and it wasnt going to be as smooth sailing as last year.
Our team played poorly, in fact it wasnt good at all. However, and this will be no consolation but the team will be better for it, its a young team and the experience of losing 2 semi finals will be motivation enough; they dont need reminding how poor they were, they i am sure are fully aware!
Next season BR will probaby get rid of Borini, Lambert, Balotelli, Johnson and we all know Gerrard will be leaving. Its a massive season for BR next season, it is likely to be HIS team supplimented by a few quality (hopefully) signings this summer. Next season is the one in which to judge BR, he knows Studge is injury prone, he knows Can needs to pay in MF and he knows he needs more strikers.
May i remind the few that BR is new to this level of management (CL), he is young for a manager and his team is young. His close run title last season and the two semi finals this season should IMO buy him another season at the very least. He must improve his win rate vs the CFC, Utds and Arsenals and of course he must improve on the european front. Yes, next season it really is BR team and with three yrs behind him and plenty of money in that time he MUST improve, he will be under masssive pressure to win; it goes with the territory at LFC.
Not the time for knee jerk reaction.

That's fair Greatteams.
I think if we get he wink from Klopp (or another top manager who becomes available) then he is in trouble though.

We should really be looking for two new managers on Merseyside. Both have failed

I think Koeman is a better bet than Klopp.
I'd just keep Rodgers though.

Any change is risk though.
Then again, so is staying with Rodgers.
If, for arguments sake, we start next season badly, and he is gone in October. Maybe the likes of Klopp and Ancelotti or whoever are no longer available.
Then what? We end up hiring another unproven manager and even more risk.
It's not a great situation either way.
In ideal world we keep Rodgers and we start like a train next season and all is forgotten, but what are the chances of that really?
We have a lack of character in the squad and are losing some of our bigger characters in the summer.
Maybe it needs a big character manager like Klopp to bang some heads together, not keep telling them every average performance is 'outstanding'.

Lovren isnt a bad defender, in fact go ask the saints board about him. Dont you ever think that maybe, just maybe some players need a season to bed in?
The real failure under BR imo is the striker department, he has signed:
Aspas
Balo
Lambert
Sturridge
Borini
One success and hes injury prone; right there is why LFC are not in cup finals and the top 4 RIGHT NOW, you can blame BR for that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lovren is a rubbish defender, GB. That's why he was dropped for a while. I've seen rarely any improvement since he was recalled.
A season to bed in?! If they were any use they would be hitting the ground running, for £20 million at least.
I forgot to mention Lambert, another lemon. Rarely played, but when he does he wets himself. Come on! These have been talent scouted. Where's the talent?
What input did Rodgers have in these signings? From what I hear he had some input in the Lambert signing.
FSG: how long do we have to be grateful for their bailing out of our financial difficulties before we turn round and say ahem, excuse me, without the big money signings and wages we can't compete with your Chelsea and your City. They insist on buying 'for the future'. Let's take Sterling, who was a future and who now wants to do one. Say we stick with Lovren and he suddenly turns out to be a massive bus, parking himself in front of goal, then another club waves a massive pay cheque under his nose...
Borini, yes: I don't care if he didn't want to go, should've been sold whether he liked it or not. Reina was.
Sturridge injuries bad news but no plan to replace him.
I think BR is on borrowed time tbh.
