Happy Birthday big fella. One of our best ever strikers from the early 70s. Part of a good team that won a european trophy, appeared in another european final, two league cup triumphs. Oh for a Chivers now to go alongside Kane.

Martin was up in Milton Keynes last year at a charity do at MK Dons ground. Had a brief chat with him & reminded him we had met once before.
I was playing for the RAF Team v a Spurs eleven at Hendon's ground in 1971, we actually won 3-1, but they only had 3 "first team" players playing that day & the rest were reserves.
Happy Birthday Martin

Ooooooooooooops, sorry forgot to mention we got Martin from Southampton, so they were turning out great players even 45 years ago.
Shearer, Le Saux, Le Tissier, Terry Paine & Mick Channon.

I idolised Chivers when I was a kid...he was the player I wanted to be like. I still remember feeling absolutely gutted when he left to join Servette

As a big centre-forward and relative to his size, one of the most skilful players I've ever seen.

I have seen the videos of Martin Chivers and that second goal in the first ever (1972) UEFA Cup final against Wolves was a wonderful strike.
Happy birthday to a great servant to Spurs, who scored many goals over many years.

Chiv used to be mine host of the Brookman's Park Hotel for a number of years. He would often be behind the bar chatting footie. Real nice guy.
