I thought the team performed well today although I can't help but feel slightly disappointed. Not at the fact that we lost to City but it's happened many times against the likes of Chelsea where we've started off really brightly and haven't taken any of our chances only to concede on the first counter and deflate for the rest of the game.
I would take these losses if it meant we actually then dominated smaller teams like Burnley or Aston Villa but with Tottenham it seems no matter the opponent, the game will always be a struggle and I think our goal difference reflects this perfectly.
As a top 6 team we should be looking at scoring much more than we are conceding but the defence has been awful in numerous occasions which has really let us down.
Hopefully we manage to do a fair bit of scouting this summer and really identify targets and go for them. None of the nonsense where we aim one footballer and then get footballer lite.
Still should try and get Europa league of course. That competition is definitely not beneath us and the early stages could be useful for players like Pritchard, Alli and other newcomers. We need a solid replacement for Mason's position and a stand by for Eriksen who can be really inconsistent.

"No sense"?
Does supporting a team that "concedes sloppy goals and gets poor results" make any sense?
You will die a disappointed old man supporting a team that "makes no sense".
OR
you will push for change!

Did Lamela really have a good game yesterday? Hearing he got good reviews from some fans who said it was his best game for us.

Paxton,
I dont know where they're getting that from. Then again, if he was an actual 6/10 then that would certainly be on par with his previous best - or second best bar the QPR game back in August.
How he keeps getting picked i'll never know.

Yes, Lamela had a good game, never gave the ball away and used it well, played some key passes and could have had a goal or two but for a good save and not receiving the ball when in acres of space in front of goal. As usual his work rate was excellent also.
Rather interestingly, on combined goals and assists in the PL this season, Lamela is just 1 behind Coutinho, whom the media cream their knickers over and who got into the team of the year.
Interesting statistic that, for all those who repeatedly claim he is rubbish.

I think this further proves that stats don’t really tell us the full picture. Didn’t some Swansea player have a better pass accuracy rate than anyone in the whole of Europe a season or 2 ago, beating the entire Barcelona team (for example)?
It’s not so much the 1 contribution in every 6 or 7 games that he should be judged on, it’s his (poor) all round play, and (poor) team performance up both ends, in the majority of games.
I’m not sure Coutinho deserved to be in the team of the year but to compare him to Lamela because a couple of match stats are similar is a little misleading IMO.
He wasn’t god awful against City but it shows how bad things have been when some posters are content and pleased with a 6/10 performance. Better? Maybe be. Good enough? Nowhere near.
Sorry.

AGREED CHICKEN....
at one point sunday...we had decent possesion on the half way line....the ball is rolled to him.....and he misplaces a simple 10/15 yrd forward pass......move breaks down....unacceptable that......
