Last night on talksport, that idiot Rodney Marsh was on talking about Raheem Sterling is everything that is wrong with football, and he should stay put and play his football.
Now I vividly remember that when asked the question "should Bale stay at Spurs?", he answered "why would Bale stay at spurs? he needs to leave to further his career"
Now I expected that, because as we all know, Rodney Marsh has the mental capabilities of a woodlouse.
But then we have the rest of the embarrassing media scrambling to condemn Sterling, which simply wasn't around when Bale was on strike at spurs to force a move.
Carragher, Collymore, Brazil, Houghton, the list goes on to be honest.
So why is it that when Bale wanted out to further his career (and earn lots more money ) at a club more likely to be winning trophies, it was fine, but now Sterling wants the same, then its some kind of great tragedy for the game.
Another example of anti-spurs, pro- Liverpool media
Raheem Sterling and the Media Coverage

Its only banter and not abuse, Chronic is just from a different era and youngsters today don't respect their elders

This is true. Good point. I do hate inconsistencies - and this is a prime example.

I dont take any notice of the media but Sterling is a typical example of a modern day footballer.
Its not about winning trophies or ambition and I dont care what he says its all about money and his agent will be pushing him to move because he will get a big slice of money for him moving.
He is an idiot for listening to his agent for a start.
He owes pool big time for bringing him thru the ranks and for giving him his chance
He is already going to end up a multi millionaire he does not need to pull these stunts its greed pure greed.
He will go now (pool have no choice) but I so wish that clubs would say feck you sit on your backside for 2 years we are not going to sell you and we are not going to play you either.
Player power is not good for the game and the fans deserve a hell of a lot more than some spoilt brat treating them and their club like this.
BTW I dont think he is anything that special anyway to be honest.

The biggest problem now is that clubs don't really need people in the stands, the money that comes in from other sources far out weights any turnstile revenue
------
so why do they build new stadiums and do stadium expansions?

no I don't know the point you were making because you said that clubs don't really need people in the stands.
which just isn't true.
don't call me pedantic because I pick up incorrect points you make

I disagree with this point. One of the reasons we are behind other clubs is the size of our ground and the amount of revenue we miss out on because of it.

i think the two are related
bigger ground = more money
more money = better side
better side = better results
better results = better sponsorship / commercial revenue
repeat
it's an upward, self fulfilling spiral
