Think that's a bit OTT Chronic about the media, Liverpool and especially Rodgers have taken plenty of flack over the past few years.
Also is Talksport the best example of the media?
its not just talksport...... its all the media outlets from bbc to skysports to the newspapers to the radio
and kneerash... the media is full of ex Liverpool players and managers and it is very pro Liverpool . you are probably too close to LFC to be able to see it

so?
principle remains the same... the player wants to leave to further career and earn more money.
it shouldn't matter whether player of year or not... and it shouldn't matter whether the player plays for Gillingham or Liverpool.... either you don't have a problem with players wanting to leave to earn more and further career, or you don't....
I do agree there is allot of ex players in the media especially on TV
I guess I look at the media as the proper journalists not sky and BT etc
The guardian and the BBC and some journalists from other papers are who o read I don't listen to the post match analysis often do like Gary Neville though
Chroic
Does this apply to all players or just players who leave Spurs?
One thing that stood out to me last night was how so many ex players make it out like Sterling hasn't got his own mind and can't make any decisions himself that it's all his agent.
the media were doing their most to push the bale deal through. the speculation was relentless. they did all they could to get bale out of spurs.
not saying that we would have kept him anyway, such was the fee, but the way they reported it was poor OTT....
i think some fans are insecure

With the best will in the world, if he stays with Liverpool, he might get an FA Cup or a League Cup. If he goes to City of Chelsea, he'll most likely win the league, or who knows maybe even a CL in the next decade or so...
As much as Liverpool are a big club, they're not a 'top' club at present, it's a no brainer to go to somewhere he's likely to win something.
All his agent is interested in, will be the pay packet, which does just happen to mean that the agent gets more if Sterling moves. It's probably both of them to be fair, but Sterling's career is better off at a better team.

yeah he looks like a caant
Hes gone lets deal with it lads. Get what we can and move on.
The club was here before Raheem and will continue after he has gone.
Best of luck Raheem and thanks.
Chronic, I couldn't agree more. Well said.
Furthermore, Sterling has been hung out to dry twice this season, first by Roy Hogdson (the whole, "he was too tired to play" thing (probably influenced by Rogers) and then by Brendan Rogers talking about contract talks to the media.
At the end of the day, there is no loyalty in football - apart from the fans. When a club wants to get rid of a player, they will. When a player wants to leave, he will. The media need to get over it.

Sterling can do what he wants but he is still very young and I think would be better served by staying put, couple more years, see if LFC can meet his ambitions and then move if they fail to .
While I agree that the media approach to Bale and Sterling is markedly different, Bale was that but older, really carrying Spurs, winning games on his own and uber confident. He probably moved at the right time for him (never would have been a good time for Spurs).
If Sterling does go, he should avoid Chelsea. Jose turns every flair player into a grafter but usually allows one exception on the pitch at any one time....Hazard. Even the likes of Willian & Fabregas are now work horses and Cuadrado doesnt get a look in, Mata moved on, Salah not given a chance, Remy only plays when Costa injured. City would be the natural choice.
Liverpool now learning what its like to be a Spurs fan, summer after summer of your best players being prized away from your club by the media / agents / those willing to pay £200k a week+
Luckily for City, Platini will relax FFP this summer so they can go spending crazy again (all in the name of competition! yeah right!)
I hope he stays at Pool, shows some loyalty.
I agree they should be able to what they like, but you can't expect people not to get on his back when he doesn't perform, for what, 4 or 5 months(?) and then decides he's above the club.
As the poster above said, it's a bit different when you've been in good form for a few seasons culminating in a period of sustained greatness where you've almost singlehandedly dragged a team along, like Bale had.

I still think we'll keep him for another year barring an obscene bid.
People saying cut your losses and get rid of a player who wants out are being naive or wishful.
He's got 2 years on his deal, and no top English club will let him go to a rival on the cheap even if it happens next summer with one year left. Do you really think they'd just say "oh well, they got a good deal because of his contract, best of luck rivals"?

I expect people to get on his back, he has been shocking since all of this broke and he hasn't handled it well but he is a kid, it is his agent/advisor's that have screwed him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I expect it is the agent most at fault, but at the same time, his agent isn't controlling his performances on the pitch, or his smoking habits, or his wish to have a rest mid-season. At least I'm guessing it isn't.
