I'm not missing the point mate at all. Your gripe is With the Spurs supporters and our poor atmosphere ( which I agree on) and your case is basically saying we should be happy as things Stand we are where we should be. The bigger picture is filtering around the top 4 for half a season then folding like a bunch of c unts every year plus never winning anything is a reason why spurs fans are slowly getting fed up. I'm not saying we should be winning the league but a trophy every few years and decent challenge on the top 4 is something we should atleast expect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no its not. its with the media. read the article.
as a side I mentioned that our home fans are awful, which is indisputable. weare is deluded into thinking its some of the best home support in the country
what a wally!
and no I am not saying that I am happy where we are, I would like to improve... why do you think I have been banging on about our joke defence all year? I want us to improve and be as good as we can. however once you take a step back and review things as a whole, then a season with a 5th or 6th finish matches up with us being the 5th or 6th richest club, at a time where how successful you are is (usually) based on how much money you have.
that's all I am saying don.
did any of you go to the game v hull? the stadium was about a third full when the players came and did the thank you lap, maybe not even that. it was the emptiest I have ever seen it, which was a very very poor show from the spurs fans, in a season where we haven't been great, but they have still given us some great memories and amazing days
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't go to the Hull game but had I done I wouldn't of hung about to applaud our underwhelming team round the pitch. Our home record this season is shocking and throwing rotten vegetables at them would have been more fitting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
so you wouldn't have stayed for ten mins after the game to applaud not even harry kane for his season as he walked round the pitch? what about hugo lloris? did he give up this season too? what about danny rose who has been much improved..... or dier in his tough debut season, or chadli for his goal return, etc....
just because a couple of players in the squad don't care, and a few more underperform, then you cannot even clap the ones that have done well?
pretty much says it all - you are a typical shiiit spurs fan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, I'm a realist.
4th was very getable this season and we blew it mainly due to poor overall team performances against weak opposition at home. You are clearly more tolerant of that than I am.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it wasn't gettable because we don't have a squad of top 4 quality...... there is so much deadwood that is in the squad its unbelievable. poch has actually done a good job getting us where we are. at least half our team needs to be upgraded before we can properly think about getting in the top 4.
imagine if we were in the CL this season with our defence

no I don't, I think we are 6th in the league. I can tell this because when I look at the league table, that's where we are...
you are the one bringin up bill nich and the double winning side , you must have been talking to sandy too much, its not the 1960s any more
Paul Bawron is absolute correct 4th was easily gettable with the standard of the league,.and dropping that many points to so called inferior sides at home is criminal. However I really don`t give a shiiite about top four, so no big deal with me. But I certainly get his point it was very attainable.

I have been talking mid 90s football in this very thread.
I cannot talk about anything earlier as I wasn't watching spurs before the mid 90s.
we are not all as old as you sandy. instead of slate the current set up because its not winning doubles, you should actually just be grateful to have been alive to see spurs as the dominant team... most people on this forum haven't
Don_tottenham
Well chronic you might be happy with 2 league cups in 20 + years and promising so much but never achieving anything but I'm not.
And neither should you be mate, if Wigan can win the FA Cup, WTF cannot Spurs. Chronic plays this chequebook football that thinks you cannot win trophies if you don`t have more money than the big hitters. It is total bollox.
Greatteamswinit4times- a terrible enemy
I don't get why top 4 is no big deal to you sandy.
It`s simple, trophies everyday over a top four trophy. I don`t watch the CL so not that fussed over whether Spurs are in it or not. I have seen Spurs play Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona back in the day at WHL so nothing new there.
Just my opinion, but I would much sooner see Spurs running around Wembley with a trophy than sitting watching a boring 0-0 draw with Bayern at WHL, and then getting knocked out in the return leg.

Completely agree and I hate the attitude of " we can't compete with the big boys so just accept IT" ... What a load of bulls hit. Yes I know Spurs will never be title challengers unless we have a huge investment or sugar daddy involved but I'm not asking for that. I want a Spurs side who are consistent and to win a trophy every few years. All I get with Spurs is the same old disappointments every single season. A few decent results against the rivals, a minor top 4 challenge for half a season and the odd cup final every 7/8 years. We never win anything and we barely put up a proper challenge on the top 4 bar our redknapp days.Like you say Wigan won the fa cup and swansea won the league cup recently.
don. you just don't listen do you mate. you are as bad as chicken.
sandy and weare are just as useless in this regard.
I have been slating our defence all year... why? because I think we can do better.
its not a case of settling for what we have, I want us to improve all the time... but there is no quick fix. the simple fact is that the more revenue we have the better the quality of player we can attract as we can pay more, and afford bigger transfer fees... which is why the stadium is so crucial to our long term development.
short term we can improve by getting rid of the dross, and strengthening in key areas, which doesn't need huge money spent, just wise money spent.
Greatteamswinit4times- a terrible enemy
You kind of missed out a chunk there didn't you. And you seeing Spurs play those teams 40 odd years ago doesn't mean a lot in the grand scheme of things.
It may not to you, but it does to me, it was the best footballing watches of my life back then, so don`t dismiss it. Nothing in the modern game gives me as much pleasure as back in the day, sorry that is just the way it is. I am sure most old timers are of the same mind set. I doubt you would find many oldies at Man United who would prefer to watch Mata, Fellani and Carrick to Best, Law and Charlton.
As I have said quite a lot recently I don`t really give much for the modern game now, I still follow it, but it don`t do a lot for me, and yes Chronic I still follow Spurs, and do moan if they lose, but tell me a supporter that doesn't.
Chronic
Spurs never realistically challenged for the league much between 1962 and 1992, but they sure as hell won a lot of cups over the same period. There is absolutely no excuses for not being able to at least compete for some of the cup competitions even if the league is unattainable without a sugar daddy.

You saying "I don't care about watching European games now because I did 50 years ago" is completely ridiculous and incredibly short sighted.
Why would it be, I have already said I don`t like modern footie that much, so why would I be forced to say I like a modern product that I think is inferior to what I watched in the past.
You enjoy it mate, but don`t force it on me.
