I just listened to the whole thing again, you can pick up more that way.
Rossler
- its been a long time since we had a manager as articulate and intelligent. (Actually I'm wrong McDermott was articulate, but in a rather downbeat sort of way). I could imagine he was the sort with the brains to have an overall vision, a man with a plan.
- not saying that guarantees success, but I doubt many without those attributes could succeed for long at Leeds
- he mentioned his "plan B" - no ones told him that's not allowed at Leeds
- he is coming in believing he will have more say over appointments and player signings than the recent predecessors
Pearson
- not sure if his title is Chief Exec, but he looked one to me. Looked the real deal. Every time he opened his mouth he sounded like the sort of businessman I've been used to dealing with, that has not been the case for a long time at Leeds.
- I was struck by one phrase he used near the end, "order and stability will pervade the club". I have the impression that's what he is going to be about.
- he said with a degree of certainty that management appointments were all agreed, just waiting for the legal work to go through, and expect a lot happening in the next week or so. He'll look daft if that's not right, so assume it will happen.
My view is, this looks promising as a set up. I can believe in this.
The big question is whether Cellino can cope with this long term, or will revert back to his micromanagement and erratic, disruptive behaviour. He remains the potential big problem we have. Lets hope he has learnt he needs to be owner and chairman, and not to micromanage.......... Pearson is clearly the sort who will "manage" the situation when his chairman gets a bit carried away with his comments, he is clearly not the sort who will tolerate micromanagement and interference inappropriate from an owner.
Pearson is the litmus test for me, if he stays then this new project has a good chance of ultimate success. If he goes quickly then I fear we are dooooomed
Heres hoping

Fallacy. A leopard does not change his spots and MC will be meddling anytime now.
Classsic blunder - the previous chap deserved to be treated that way, I am different and will not be treated the same.

What you have to remember is that the official line under Redfearn was that Cellino wasn't interfering. Transfers were Redfearn's choice but Cellino would just pop up every so often with a transfer in such as Cani. And every so often allow a personal vendetta against a player (Warnock) to push a sale through without consulting the manager.
Cellino regularly took transfer targets from Redfearn, they were just never listened to.
If Cellino is going to have ZERO involvement in transfers, why has he been on recent scouting missions?
Cellino does those kind of things subtlely. An example is with Antenucci, just dropping a few 'reminders' about the contract extension clause.
Decent appointment, extremely unprofessionally handled.

You don't need to tell me about Cellino, Jonny. I posted on another thread yesterday. I would love to have him out of the club. I did not like his style right from the beginning, his management style is the opposite of everything I believe in
That's why I said Oearson is the litmus test, if he goes soon it's because - although he knows what is needed - he has concluded no matter how much he helps Cellino the guy can't, as you say, change his spots.
But Rossler and Pearson came over well, to me

2020 I agree regarding Pearson.
I have belief in him, that he is fighting for what is right.
Now i could get mugged off again like i did with MC, but I think he sounds honest.
setting up for a fall probably, if hes too good at his job, no doubt he will get sacked.
