Scholes - even as United fan - is not a patch on Zidane. Pirlo too. And Zidane is better than Xavi.

Zidane was a better player, Xavi a better midfielder.

I agree. In terms of raw talent and sheer footballing genius, not many come close to Zidane.

Was he heck. Xavi was the focal point of the greatest club team to play the game.

Zidane couldn't control a game like Xavi.

Nah Gerrard and Scholes was the best partnership we could have fielded.

Had everything and they worked well together when they did play together.

England couldn't play a possession game so there's no point trying to. Stick to what suits us and compliments the players, and Gerrard and Scholes should have been it.

Zidane was more attacking and had a different style, Madrid played him out on the left a lot. If they built the team around his instead of Perez buying Galacticos they could have won a lot more but on individual ability and talent Zidane is in a class of his own for me. The way he skinned opponents was amazing to watch because he wasn't fast, just had perfect control in so many different ways and saw the game way ahead of anyone else.
