Pirlo's better than Xavi

Well you do know the players in question say it about scholes themselves, Think the word of zidane and Xavi carries abit more weight than yours

Dinho was truly a joy to watch

Nedved was as gifted as zizou

If Zizou hears that blasphemy he will literally head-butt you and push your lower intestine into your lungs causing instant death.

He's nowhere near Xavi (nobody is), but I think you can make a case for comparing him with Zidane

Zizou not even Frances greatest midfielder

But frankly it's getting very embarrassing seeing Mancs trying to squeeze Scholes alongside the likes of Zidane and Xavi. Just stop please.

Where's this then?

Nedved > Zidane

As a neutral if I had one choice of any player in the modern premiership era, I'd have Scholes by a country mile.

As for the comparisons might as well pišš against the wind as none of them have played in the same league ever.

Zidane > Nedved > Pirlo > Scholes > Anderson

Who's saying Scholes is better than Xavi and Zidane anyway on here?

"Pirlo's better than Xavi"

Outrageously incorrect. Pirlo's another top player being placed above his station. Guy's amazing. But ever since he r'aped England there's been an obsession.

"But ever since he r'aped England there's been an obsession."

fair point

he was shiite in the last WC (Italy went out in the groups and England matched them head to head) but people were so mentally scarred form the Euros they actually thought he played well.

I'd put Zidane above Xavi. Aside from having more flair and skill on the ball, he made a bigger contribution in big games.

me too Spurtle

There's been an obsession about Pirlo way before he beat England in 2012, since the early 00's he's been one of the finest midfielders in the world, his crowning year was 2006, best player in the World Cup, MOTM in the final, a genius

Well for the last 3 seasons he's won Serie A player of the year, and is still an absolutely vital player in a top Juventus team

Andiamo
When it comes to world football yes. But English fans are usually the most defiant (can call it ignorant).

They judge a lot of foreign players by the 'what has he done against us'.
Twas was like that with Messi at one point until he smacked aside Yernited and Arsenal. Same with Ibra. Until his overhead kick. Very odd.

Zidane is better than Xavi. Different players though. To mention Iniesta is jokes though.

I would rank Scholes as high as Xavi personally. For me, he's the greatest midfielder of the PL era. Xavi has the best spatial awareness I've seen on any player which is why it was a nightmare to get the ball off him, but Scholes had a great range of passing. That ability to put United immediately on the counter with a 50-yard cross-field ball was an immense weapon to have. He also had a certain extra offensive drive at his physical prime that Xavi never had. Scholes was also one of the cleanest strikers of a football you'll ever see.
