Oh dear Part three

What do people think they are going to achieve jumping on the band wagon of a poor Cup Final Display?

Few chuckles maybe?

What is slagging Sherwood meant to prove?

Kept us up and a cup final......

Can accept the stick from Blouse......but from the baggies

Some Tottenham supporters have been good and honest, some unfortunately are still sadly deluded

We are all back on a level playing field now the season has ended and yep face the facts none of us will win fe*** all

First time for years but I am actually looking forward to no football for a bit it has become a bit boring

Aries makes a good couple of good points.

We were pretty shocking this year but still managed a huge GAP to Villa.

I find it incredible that Dim gets some kind of 'slap on the back' for almost getting Villa relegated.
Had just one result gone the other way then Villa would be a Champo club today...

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were heading for relegation without him. His record over the 13 matches he was in charge was 16 points. If he amounted points at this rate over a whole season we would have 46-47 points which would have made us 13th. So he didn't almost get us relegated. He saved us from relegation by winning points at the rate of a mid-table team. It was the results of his predecessor that almost got us relegated. Slap on the back not incredible at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

16 points from 13 games..... Fair enough, but would the exact same fixtures and circumstances be repeated in order for you to get your 47/48 points? No, didn't think so.

At one point this season Ronaldo was on course to score 76 league goals or something like that. Guess what? Form fluctuated, injuries occurred and it didn't happen. Just as your projection might not have happened either.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't matter that it might not have happened. Nothing is certain. And of course they wouldn't be repeated. However, you can't say whether they would be better or worse. The 13 games included a fair cross section of teams so on balance you would say that Sherwood did well. You can only go on the evidence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The evidence works both ways though. The evidence over the last 3 or 4 seasons suggests that the bulk of this squad are only capable of achieving around 40 points because they're horribly inconsistent.

While Villa were getting tonked 6-1 other results that day saved Dims skin.

Let's face it, if Hull weren't so feckin useless and unable to hit a barn door despite having enough chances to win 5 prem games, Villa would have been gonners.

However, fair-do's for getting to the cup final..

That makes Sherwood's performance even better then. I rest my case.

But heisenberg once again you miss the point

yes we got tonked at Soton and other results went our way but it was the results at Tottenham home to Everton etc that got us to safety.

Sherwood hasnt been a miracle worker But he's done a good job

The Cup final defeat was always likely to happen but a warm up against your lot was a real confidence booster for them

West Brom are due to drop could be next year
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's no logic behind that statement at all. Why are West Brom due to drop? Is it our turn or something?
Might as well say Villa got away with it last season but they won't next season when they lose their best player and their manager gets found out with a loor squad.
Villa are due to drop, could be next year.

Arsenal won the first half 4-0 and Albion won the second half 1-0. You lot couldn't even manage a shot on target against them. Two attempts on goal and neither one troubled their 'keeper.
And Tim took two weeks prepping Villa for that?

arsie why are you so arrogant? You live in a country full of the worst human rights abusers on the planet!
Pulis' hoofball is an absolute joke and everybody knows it,he uses American football-style blockers on set pieces FFS and you say you're looking forward to a whole season of that?
When is Rory Delap signing for you,you just couldn't make it up!

Have to say, I hated watching our hoofball when we battered the champions of england 3-0

Truly was shocking to watch

He's similar (albeit never worked at the same size clubs) as Mourinho in his philosophy. Which is why Mourinho rates him so highly. And I'd take that any day over passing the ball around the defence trying to get our possession stats up, and passing accuracy stats up

How can you use the game against Chelsea

Well done on beating them but it was a dead rubber and played like one

Your football is effective but crap to watch

Boing Boing time to go lads

A lot like the majority of the bottom half of the table then, yourselves included. Cannot name one side who we played this season in the bottom half who actually played "attractive" football

In fact I'd say our defensive solidarity is one of the main reasons I would not expect us to go down. 10 clean sheets in 18 games is nothing short of world class. And if it is "boring" to not concede in every game then, I'm quite happy
