On the surface, a deal for Pogba to join Arsenal may seem like a pipe dream. But when you actually think about it, it really isn't as unlikely as many of us think. And not only is it not so unlikely, it's actually a situation where we are (in EPL terms) the front runners to sign him. The only obstacle between us and this deal really, is the price tag.
I don't see any deal being done with Utd as Pogba doesn't strike me as the type to go back to a club that never had faith in him earlier. He does strike me as the type to sign for a rival of said club, just to spite them though. Though City are Utd's direct rivals, to a young French player, they will not have the pulling power of a London based Arsenal, primed to challenge, with Wenger at the helm.
If you're a French youngster then Arsene Wenger is close to a god. He's about as highly respected and sought after to work with as it gets. Despite the money-grabbing nature of players today, I wouldn't put it past one to accept thousands less in pay per week (they get that much it'll make little difference to how they live) just to work with whomever they deem the best manager.
And if you're Paul Pogba, then the man who made Viera and Henry the total legends they are, has got to be head and shoulders above the rest when making the choice. Add to that, Kos Debuchy and Giroud are already here, plus everyone French he knows regards Wenger as highly and will be advising him Arsenal is the best move for his development. Then it's really not as crazy as you may think to believe there's a good chance of this actually happening.
Many often undervalue Wenger and in particular the "Pulling power" of getting to work with him. Previously players may have ruled out Arsenal as it was common knowledge we'd not be paying big wages and fees, putting both player and club off the deal. Now however, that is not the case. Arsenal are clearly set to spend big so the clubs know they can get a good fee and the players a wage. You can bet your last pound that any rising stars in football have the Gunners firmly on their radar for a move if they can get it.
This applies no moreso than to the young French players. So for all whom don't appreciate Wenger, say your prayers, cross your fingers Pogba wants EPL and know that if we pull this signing off. It will be down to the fact that Wenger, the man you wanted gone, is the manager.

The OP clearly has no idea of how transfers work and in particular what b.astards Juventus will be when/if selling Pogba, they are probably (along with Sevilla) the best transfer market operators in Europe, and he also has no idea of the ideas of Pogba in his next move, he won't be joining arsenal

Is the OP a wum or what?
If it's serious, this is total cluelessness.
There is no way we are signing Pogba, end of.
How deluded must one be to convince themselves we are frontrunners for him.

I think the OP honestly believes that Arsenal would consider Pogba as viable, in that the club would contemplate spending their entire transfer budget on one player.
Pogba is contracted to Juve for another four years. Put yourself in their shoes. Why would they even consider selling one of their best players (and one of the most sought after players in world football) at a discount?
If it transpires that Pogba does want to leave Juve they will sell to the highest bidder. And there will be plenty. If the player happens to have a preferred destination, Juve will only offer Pogba to them if they have matched the highest bid received.
I suspect if he does leave Juve it will be for Spain.

stuart pearce - i dont see arsene going for pogba either, i think over the years there's a pattern emerging over what types of players arsene likes to sign.. he doesnt like to sign troublemakers.. he wants to be able to keep his authority with his team.. if he feels that a player wants out, he'd happily let him leave as he doesnt want that player to infect the rest of the squad. if a player wants to stay, you can be sure that arsene will back him through thick and thin. he might see pogba as the type to start getting restless after a few years and try to move again. that's even before getting to the financials of the whole deal.

Wenger has even said he won't be spending figures in the region of what it'd take to get Pogba. So simply put, the manager has effectively all but ruled out even going for him as Juve won't sell for less.
But yeah, I'm sure Pogba will turn everyone else down and force a move for far less to Arsenal.

Anyone who thinks we would get Pogba ahead of Chelsea, City, Barca, Madrid, PSG, Bayern and probably United is living in cloud cuckoo land. All the aforementioned sides are either better than us or are wealthier than us (in most cases both), so we have next to no chance of it happening.
