Int Football 1 - 0 Club football for once

Being Welsh I'm celebrating more right now than I have all season at United's results, Liverpool and City was pretty awesome, but that meant not much now in hindsight, only 4th...

Yes, for an actual change I'm celebrating an International result MORE than any of my clubs results all season.

'Little' (as I believe perceived by pretty much all, including myself) Wales who haven't done anything for over 50 years in international football (and yes I still know we very much may lose and lose the rest of our games before Euro 2016 and fail to qualify still, history will agree), may actually now have a pretty good chance to qualify for a European Championship. I can't believe it either.

Earning 4 points out of 6 in competitive games against the 2nd best (corrupt FIFA) ranked team in the world within 9 months is no small feat IMO! I'm actually of the opinion this Belgium team is very similar to England of 10 years ago, loads of really good players and big names at club level, but don't really perform on the international level, on paper England had a mean defence and midfield but it never really worked out during the 00's.
I'm of the opinion on paper Belgium should have beaten Argentina in the WC14 QF's, that's how good I think their group of players are compared to everyone else's at the moment.

Either way I've been shouting and screaming tonight's result (Wales 1 - 0 Belgium) more than I have for any United result this season, and believe me I was when we crushed LFC twice and City and a good few other results (ie Spurs or 1-0 NUFC), I've been shouting, singing and jumping around a good few times this season.

I'm just trying to say I know club football is far better than Int. football these days and it will continue to be for some time still, and most of us think that still (such as myself). But damn I wish something gave the England, Scotland, N. Ireland and R. Ireland fans something to jump and cheer about for their countries like Wales has given their fans tonight (in comparison to each nations aspirations of course!), because I'm not quite sure anything has for all of us recently. I know eg England beating Belgium to have a decent chance of qualifying for a major int. tournament with 4 games to go isn't going to get many England fans jumping around the room, I'm just trying to say something to get everyone jumping depending on their countries expectations (for us lot it's simply qualifying with a decent team!)

I think it'd be great for us all to feel the cheer of international football again for a change because damn it feels pretty good!

Come on WALES! Scotland! N.Ireland R. Ireland! England!

The only downer at the moment is it seems to me that only one or the other of Scotland and R. Ireland will qualify (Poland and Germany seem pretty solid in that group for top 2)

But yeah it's a very welcome surprise that for me an International result (tonight) has trumped all of my clubs results this season, if only for me anyway

In the last 30 minutes when the Welsh fans were singing our national anthem I was feeling pretty emotional

I've just typed all of the above from the heart and how I'm feeling right now, which is pretty damn ecstatic and optimistic for Wales short term/mid term future and also thinking about it IMO there's good times coming United's way soon too

Mostly England play turgid stuff without much passion.
Followed by fans singing moronic songs and a bloody band that is so annoying.

Wales did well, I've always thought Robson-Kanu could have played at a higher level then Reading.

The problem with Wales used to have was their defence, it would be made up of Championship/League 1 players who were out of their depth.

But apart from Gunter, they all played in the PL last season which is good and have a genuine threat going forward.

I thought expanding the Euros would ruin the competition but it seems to have given Wales, Scotland and N.I a shot in the arm and all three could qualify along with England, that would be brilliant IMO.

I was happy that we beat Belgium last night, we defended brilliantly in my opinion. we kept Hazard quiet as well.

Great buzz in Cardiff last night. We played well and kept Belguim quiet.

Not counting ant chickens but we should do it now.

Right then now to round 2 of drinking in Cardiff. I was drunk last night and I am getting there again today.

Matth's my long lost brother

Or half brother seen as he is just Welsh.

Melton out of interest is it somewhat the opposite effect, more time in England more affinity for Wales?
