Fck me, you've turned a light hearted comment into an impassioned defense of the Glazers. I've seen nothing to suggest they're benevolent owners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really, I just don't understand how anyone can sit at their keyboard, engage their brain for even 2 seconds, and then write that what the glazers did should be illegal.

If your original comment was a complete joke fair enough, but given your complaint about ticket prices I doubt that.

And you and I both know that if the glazers really wanted to rip off the fans they could increase ticket prices by 50% tomorrow and still have OT mostly full for every match...go and compare their prices to other PL clubs and then come back and argue.

FSG will put the money in for the Red Sox as they have been totally abysmal and the fans won't put up with continued failure.
****
Didn't the sox go around 80 years without winning anything? Was it not FSG that then delivered them the world series in their second year of ownership?

No point in trying to reason with this lot. They see that the Sox are having a bad year and have decided that this will mean FSG are failing.

FSG, much like at Liverpool, want the Sox to be self sufficient and debt free. Their revenue covers their wages easily. So thanks to FSG's accumen, the Sox have the 3rd highest payroll despite playing in one of the smallest MLB stadia.

FSG don't 'put the money in for the red sox'. This is just the uninformed suggesting that there will be less money and interest in Liverpool. It's just not right.

Liverpool generate their own revenue and spend it. Thats how we are operated. FSG are continually expanding that.

"FSG spent $180m on the Red Sox last year"

How? On what?

Since there are no transfer fees is that just 5-7 year new wage deals?

FSG spent $180m on the Red Sox last year

------------------------

Where'd you get that from?

Red Sox wage bill was about $180mil last year, but the Red Sox themselves pay that out of their own revenue.

What was Liverpools payroll. Seems it was about $240mil. Paid for by Liverpool out of their revenue.

If you are referring to the contracts handed out to Ramirez and Sandoval, then saying 'FSG spent $180 mil" isn;t exactly correct.

Again, its the Red Sox who have added those contracts to their payroll, paid out of their own revenues. FSG haven't just handed out $180m of their own money.

As for baseball being a love and football commercial, I don't really buy that. Both endeavors are purely commercial. They are investors. They accumulate wealth through purchasing and growing.

This notion that they don't care about Liverpool doesn't wash with me. They've sunk a lot of money in there and they want to see as big a gain as possible. The only way to do that is to grow the club both commerically and on the field. If either side of that is not performing then they lose money.

They need to see Liverpool be successful if they are to maximise their return. Thats how they operate the Sox, thats how they operate us. They don't care about cash in the bank, they want to see revenues spent.

Unbelievable that liverpool fans still whinge about their owners' spending on the club...this despite them making an interest-free loan to the club, finally going ahead with the new stadium, and giving rodgers well over £200m to whizz up the wall.

Unless you have a billionaire sugar daddy come along you are simply never going to be happy are you?

The kinda guys that probably blow their 70%of their wage on pay day then blame everyone else for it.

FSG spent $180m on the Red Sox last year, their passion is Baseball first and foremost unlike some of the owners in Premier league who are 100% football fans.

Understandable therefore why FSG back their actual passion on the playing side.

Can't knock them though as they willingly funded LFC to the tune of 200m to pay off your debts, what more do you want?

A sugar daddy is a sugar daddy irrespective of what the moneys used for so be grateful - they saved your club.

Red Sox is a love, Reds are a commercial interest, will always be that way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its all a business! They may have more affinity with the sox but I don't think this influences how they run Liverpool whatsoever.
