Apparently the Spaniards are interested in him. How much is he worth in this current climate?. Heard John Stones is worth £30m, then Kos should go for no less than £50m. I would take £35m + Varane to be fair

If we DID sell Koscielny, who could we sign to replace him who was at least as good or better?
To get some idea of his true valuation you'd need to take the cost of that replacement, add a decent percentage for signing on/agents fees, then a decent markup on top of that since we don't want to sell.
Put like that, a £40-50m valuation doesn't look so outlandish.

ashley williams is near enough a carbon copy, except plays for a worse team and is a bit better in the air.
Quite quick, lapse in concentration, bit cumbersome but good on the ball, Ok at reading the game problem solved

Would say Koscielny is probably our 3rd fastest player after Walcott and Bellerin, and lapses in concentration have been a thing of the past for a while with him, but I doubt I'm going to change your opinion on him at this point, given how little you seem to rate him, which I am a little baffled by.

They're all kids on here nick. Don't know why you try and talk to them and expect sensible answers.

Highest number of interceptions per game of any defender in the Premiership apparently only constitutes being 'okay at reading the game'.

Nick, it was more the comparison. You discuss JT and Kos as though Kos has no business even being mentioned in the same sentence. To state that JT is that much better than him is worse than suggesting that he's up there with the best.
JT is on par with Kos. Before you go nuts on what I've said, there is the caviat that this is due to JT now being old. At 29 JT was better than Kos now. Kos peaking and JT in decline is what has the two on par.
The reference to 11 defenders on the pitch was just a cheap shot about the Emirates game I'll admit. But as you have admitted yourself, you're prone to parking the bus against the best teams (my words not yours). So defensive against the best teams, by default means defensive against most of the best attackers. JT isn't tested by the best because the big blue bus is in the way when you play them.
When you play the teams you know you can beat ie not the best attackers, JT is not stretched or challenged. His is after all formerly one of the very best in the world. He can still comfortably handle the average players in the league so doesn't need the help of the whole team in front of him defending, for them. But when it comes to the higher calibre of player, because he is well past his best, out comes the big blue bus laying way to people such as yourself getting it a bit twisted and claiming JT is still some outstanding defender. When he's actually and old bloke who's nowhere near the player he was and certainly nowhere near the streets ahead of Kos you claim him to be.
You can't admit the team plays defensively against the best teams and then claim that the total defence approach in those games, doesn't jade the picture of how effective a defender he is. Especially when you're slating a player who has had to play within the exact opposite of Chelsea's total defence against the best, approach. I'm sure Kos would look the best in the world if we parked the bus any time we played a team with the firepower to challenge us.

Brain
50 is too low. Settling in a new CB now, puts big dents in title challenge chances, even buying the best of them.
100! 30 million so we can replace him with someone better plus 70 million for "The pain in the ass of having to replace him" money

There are a lot of things opposition fans say about our club that I can accept, but one area where many of them are so wrong it's hilarious is on the subject of Kosicelny's talent.
The guy is world class. Top 3 CBs in the PL definitely. He is prone to the occasional rash moment but those who claim that we overrate him obviously just don't watch him every week.

When you don't know anything about a topic, it's best to refrain from commenting. And when it comes to football, it appears you know absolutely nothing.
