You ever seen the Simpsons episode where Homer has an enemy in Frank Grimes? You know after Homer wins the kids build a nuclear power plant, Frank Grimes loses it, and says something along the lines of 'am I the only one who sees Simpson as a buffoon?' (can't remember the exact quotation).
Yeah that's me about Liverpool and the media. However the majority can see it (apart from Liverpool fans themselves).
First off why does the footballing media have some kind of unhealthy bias relationship towards Liverpool?
I understand the amount of ex-scouse players in their, but why all the bias towards them? They have done nothing of note in the Premier League era, bar win a heroic CL final and do a poor man's treble. Is it sympathy? Desperation?
Anyway on to the main body of the article - the hypocrisy from the media regarding Liverpool and Sterling makes me sick. To start with I think Sterling is a very good player - worth almost £50m in terms of talent alone? Probably not. However when you consider other factors e.g. age and homegrown - yes. The pure backtracking from the media regarding him is disgusting. Even as short a time ago as three months ago was Sterling considered better than Ozil by pro Scouse pundits. A year ago he was considered better than Alexis and one of the best in the league. 2015 though, he's considered a overhyped, unproven little kid by the media! While that little Henderson is still apparently one of the best players in the country, because he's now captain of Liverpool FFS.
The hypocrisy though is unreal about the transfer itself. Back in 2011 when we sold Nasri it was because we were a small a club, he was doing the right thing, because we were unambitious etc.
Liverpool on the other hand - oh no, Sterling's a money grabber, blame the agent etc (not trying to disrespect Nasri here). Reality is - Liverpool are a small club, they've had CL football once in the last 5 seasons and that was down to Sterling and Suarez. They had £110m to spend last season and wasted it on the Lallana's and Markovic's of this world, and are still signing poverty like Ings.
However it doesn't stop there. When Liverpool signed Lallana and Lovren (who were doing worse than Sterling to get a move), it was seen as 'moving for CL football', 'doing the right thing for their careers' yet with Sterling he's seen as unprofessional! The two faces from the media is vile.
Rant over.
