To be fair, Nasri, Fabregas & especially RVP were much older & more established than Sterling. They'd given more years to their club and the feeling was that they deserved more titles.
Sterling is still only 20 and could have stayed loyal to Liverpool for a couple more years - after they gave him his big break - then left after he'd truly earnt a big move.
No one really blamed Suarez when he left after 3.5 good years, at age 27, for Barca.
Although it was funny to see the reactions of the LFC pundits when Suarez said he wanted to join Arsenal. They just couldn't grasp the notion that Arsenal are a bigger deal than Liverpool. They still hate Arsenal for that
I was going to post a similar article. You know what they say about great minds...
And Rodges better hope Sturridge is fit, or else they'll be heavily reliant on Couthino and Markovic
Often along with the media getting accused of bias to Liverpool, United are mentioned as having a lot of bias towards them as well... But I've never agreed, weave some bias towards us I'm sure but nowhere near the level of Liverpool!
I can't remember any huge fuss like this being made about Ronaldo, with DDG as well now nothing like this has happened. There are far better reasons to leave Liverpool than there are United as well.
Liverpool stand out above the rest clearly in terms of media bias.
English media can't stand the fact we are more successful in the epl than their beloved Liverpool which is why we are always subject to criticism while they are they constantly praised.
Imagine a season where Liverpool or arsenal came second.
If arsenal did - media would say we lacked bottle, never in title race and declare third place were the real contender. All through summer despite running first close would still label them top four chaser
If Liverpool did - media would claim Liverpool ran them close and could win it next year, all through summer talk them as title contenders for next season
Love how the bbc spend 3 months dutifully referring to him as a "£50m rated player", but now that he is at City suggest that he is not worth that much, and trot out Aldridge and Carragher to stick the boot into him and stand up for the club.

i don't think anyone on here is really crying into their breakfast cereal.
but it doesn't half get boring! if i never heard or read another word from phil thompson again i could live with that.
Brilliant article! Thought I was the only one who noticed this. The whole Sterling fiasco has been ridiculous from start to finish. Can't blame the kid for leaving to join a better club who have a better chance of silverware. Did the same thing when he left QPR for Liverpool back in 2010.

You're a bright guy Don, can you not think of a way not to buy the Daily Mirror or watch SS on a Saturday?
I do. It's easy.

The media love us. Accept it and don't be jealous
The media have a huge Liverpool bias and only ever print positive articles, just like that one following Hillsborough in the Sun.
With Steevie Geevie gone it's worrying times for the Scouse Loving Media
OP you are spot on. The media certainly exhibits a sort of complex in their attitude when it comes to Liverpool but this is just a reflection of the attitude of the footballing fraternity in English football. Just look at this site as an example.
Good article.

Thomson needs to think before he speaks, he sounds so bitter
Big Nose wished injury on Torres when he left
What a Typically Scouse Man
OP you're very brave.. on 606 of all places..
i agree up to a point. i believe there is an agenda, but its for 'compelling story-telling'..
i don't think its set in stone in terms of their Bias..
they shift from season to season.
when the times right, they would have no problem throwing LFC under the bus...
Next season, i believe Arsenal will be the darlings..
(until February of course..)
i think the reason Liverpool get treated lightly, is the story of them finally ending their wait for the Holy Grail.
you just know the Media love-in will be unbearable!
